To obtain the Big-Dick Herb, I needed the urine of a virgin who was perfectly pure in body, mind, and spirit—but simply bringing the urine with me would not do.
‘It has to be fresh and warm, straight from the source.’
To satisfy that unicorn gentleman’s refined tastes, a virgin pure in body, mind, and spirit had to urinate in front of the unicorn barrier.
‘Fucking unicorn.’
The problem was that Isabelle, a virgin perfectly pure in body, mind, and spirit, could not walk properly because of Rose’s Punishment.
Which meant that, if I wanted the Big-Dick Herb, I would have to carry Isabelle around on my back.
‘I wonder if the blacksmith sells back carriers?’
Fortunately, the only monsters living near the Big-Dick Herb were goblins, one of the weakest kinds of mobs.
At Ian’s current specs, they were more than manageable.
‘It would have been dangerous if I’d possessed Sumire.’
Goblins, the staple monsters of fantasy, might be mobs among mobs—but goblins in an erotic game could practically be called invincible.
That was only true when dealing with heroines, though.
The goblins’ hidden strength did not work on Ian, the male protagonist and a hunter.
Before that, though, there was something I needed to settle first.
"A picnic?"
"Yes. I was thinking of taking Isabelle out to the fields. Would that be all right?"
"Well..."
Adelia looked troubled by my question.
To persuade her, I recited the lines I had prepared.
"If she stays indoors all the time, it will wear her down mentally. I want to lift her spirits by letting her see the open fields and beautiful flowers."
"I think that would be nice, too. I used to go on picnics often when my husband was alive. But will you be all right? You’ll have to carry Isabelle by yourself..."
"I’ll be fine. I may not look it, but I’m strong."
My current Strength stat was 12.
It was not an extraordinary number, but it was slightly above average.
Carrying a skinny girl like Isabelle would not be a problem at all.
"All right. I’ll trust you with her, Ian. But you have to bring her back safely, all right?"
"Leave it to me. I’ll treasure Isabelle more than my own life."
"I didn’t mean you had to go that far..."
Adelia packed this and that for the picnic.
Along with snacks, she even lent me a back carrier so I could carry Isabelle.
"My husband used this long ago, so I’m not sure whether it will fit you."
"It fits perfectly. I’ll make good use of it."
Once I had gathered everything, I headed straight for Isabelle.
Isabelle had been staring blankly out the window again today, but the moment I arrived, she turned her gaze toward me.
I lowered myself to meet her eyes and asked her.
"Isabelle, if you’re feeling up to it today, would you give me the chance to take you on a date?"
"A date?"
"Yes. We can look at flowers together in the fields and have a pleasant adventure in the forest. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it."
"I..."
Isabelle hesitated for a moment at my suggestion.
‘Has her affection for me not risen enough for her to go on a date yet?’
If she did not want to go, I intended to seize another opportunity next time.
There would be plenty of chances, after all.
"O-okay."
Contrary to what I had expected, Isabelle readily accepted.
"Today, I’ll escort you properly, Isabelle."
"I’ll... be in your care."
I carefully lifted Isabelle into my arms.
Then I was startled by how much lighter she was than I had expected.
‘I could tell from how little she ate, but she’s far too thin.’
Even if it was because of her illness, this was too severe.
"A-am I heavy?"
"No. I was surprised because you’re as light as a feather."
I seated Isabelle in the back carrier and securely fastened the rope around her like a safety belt, afraid she might fall.
"Please bear with it even if it feels a little tight."
"Ah, yes..."
With Isabelle on my back in the carrier, I headed for the forest where the Big-Dick Herb grew.
"How are you feeling, Isabelle?"
"It’s been so long since I last went outside that I’m not sure."
On the way to the forest, I kept talking to make sure Isabelle would not get bored.
"What was it like when you used to go on picnics with your family?"
"It wasn’t very nice. My father had a hard time because of me."
"..."
Isabelle slipped into a depressive spiral at every opportunity, making it a real headache to keep the conversation on track.
Still, I understood.
If someone had to live sick their entire life, they would inevitably end up with a fragile psyche like hers.
It was more impressive that she had not gone mad already.
"I doubt he had a hard time because of you, Isabelle."
"...Why do you think that?"
"Because no one could have a hard time carrying a daughter as light as you."
"But..."
"Isabelle, look at this."
Isabelle tried to refute me, but I swiftly changed the subject.
Only an amateur gave a depressive girl time to think.
You had to keep her so distracted that she had no room to think for her depression to fade away.
"That blue flower is an insectivorous plant. It smells nice, but it’ll bite you if you get close."
"See that strange-looking mushroom? It’s a hallucinogenic mushroom. If you eat it, you’ll see hallucinations, so be careful."
"Can you see that butterfly over there? It isn’t an ordinary butterfly; it’s a spirit butterfly. Even hunters rarely see one in their entire lives, but thanks to you, Isabelle, I got to see one."
I ended up doing most of the talking, but Isabelle quietly listened to every word I said.
To someone who had spent her whole life staring only out a window, all of this must have seemed fascinating.
‘I finally found it.’
I spotted the cave containing the Big-Dick Herb that I had been longing for.
"Isabelle, excuse me for a moment."
I set Isabelle down, then took out my bow and arrows.
Then I activated the hunter’s detection skill.
"It seems we have company inside the cave."
[Goblin]
[Goblin]
.
.
.
[Hobgoblin]
Just as expected, a group of goblins was hiding inside the cave.
‘Seven of them. Hardly any different from the game.’
I prepared a simple trap and fired an arrow toward the hobgoblin.
Whoosh!
"Kek?!"
Along with the sound of the arrow slicing through the air came a goblin’s scream.
"What was that sound?"
"Goblins. It’s nothing serious, so please close your eyes and wait."
Before the goblins could reach us, I loosed several more arrows.
Thanks to that, I took down two more.
‘That leaves four, then?’
Once the goblins came within sight, I drew my old sword.
"Heehee, it’s a human male!"
"Kill the man!"
"There’s a human woman over there."
"Fuck the woman!"
The stupid goblins charged right at us.
They did not notice the rope stretched at their feet, and they ended up tripping over it and tumbling down together.
"Kik?!"
The goblin at the back tried to get up immediately, but my sword had already pierced the nape of its neck.
"That’s one."
It was my first time killing a monster that resembled a human, but I did not feel particularly sickened.
If anything, I felt a stronger sense of relief.
‘Maybe because I possessed Ian’s body, even my first real fight feels natural.’
As I pulled my sword from the goblin’s neck, I dodged the other goblins’ attacks.
My body moved on its own before I could even think.
Thanks to that, I was able to swiftly finish off the goblins.
"You’re the last one."
"Krrk!"
After dealing with the final goblin, I returned to Isabelle.
Apparently quite frightened by the sudden situation, she had kept both eyes closed just as I told her to.
"Pfft."
She looked so adorable that a smile naturally came to my face.
"I-is it over?"
"Yes, it’s over. But don’t open your eyes yet."
"W-why?"
"There’s something I want to show you separately."
I placed Isabelle in the back carrier once more and headed deeper into the cave.
The hobgoblin’s corpse was inside, but I roughly concealed it in the bushes.
"You can open your eyes now."
"Mmh..."
Isabelle hesitated to open her eyes, but eventually opened them slowly.
Then she let out an exclamation at the sight before her.
"Wow..."
"Beautiful, isn’t it?"
The inside of the cave was blanketed in pink flowers, which blended with the softly shining sunlight to create a beautiful sight.
‘Though if she knew what those flowers really were, she’d find them horrifying instead.’
I set Isabelle down somewhere the pollen could not reach, then took out the snacks Adelia had packed.
Calling them snacks was generous. There were only dried raspberries and hard rye bread.
"Let’s eat here."
"Here?"
"Yes. Even a scenic mountain is best enjoyed after a meal. When your stomach is full, enjoyment is doubled."
"What mountain is Kumgang Mountain?"
"It’s the name of a beautiful mountain in a small country in the East."
As I chatted with Isabelle, I placed raspberries in her mouth.
"How is it? Looking at the scenery while you eat makes it more enjoyable, doesn’t it?"
"Yes... It’s enjoyable."
Isabelle answered with a shy smile.
Smiling at the sight, I prepared some tea.
Of course, the tea was made with Golden Flower.
. . .
Until now, Isabelle had never known the feeling of enjoyment.
Unable to move her body, the only life permitted to her had been to stare blankly out the window.
But now there was the unfamiliar scenery of the forest, and the sudden appearance of goblins.
Everything was strange, and her heart, which had been quiet for so long, began to pound.
At first it was painful, but before long, she began to feel something she could call enjoyment.
It was because she felt as though she herself were alive and moving.
And Ian was the reason she had been able to feel all of it.
‘Why does this man love me?’
Seeing Ian smile at her, Isabelle felt a tangle of complicated emotions.
The more she felt his love, the stronger those emotions became.
‘I can’t do anything for him.’
She could not please him as a woman, could not support him as a wife, and could not even bear his child.
She was merely a parasite who did nothing but sit blankly around and devour the household’s food.
If anyone had to be chosen as the most worthless being in the world, surely it would be her.
Yet he loved her, and Isabelle could not understand him at all.
‘Why?’
She wanted to ask why he loved her, but Isabelle did not have the courage to ask him.
She felt that if she could not give him what he wanted, his love would disappear.
In the end, Isabelle hid her feelings again today.
That was when it happened.
"Nngh?!"
A tingling sensation surged up from her lower abdomen, and Isabelle felt a chill run down her spine.
‘I-I need to pee.’
And that was the moment her husband had been waiting for most.
