Chapter 4: Preventing NTR in Advance - 3

[You have become a Swordsman (Lv. 1).]

After swinging my sword thousands of times in the same stance, I had finally unlocked the Swordsman class.

‘This is harder than I expected.’

Generally, they said it took over a year’s worth of experience to raise a class by one level.

A great teacher or exceptional talent could shorten that time, but unfortunately, I had neither.

I had only managed this much because I knew a trick for raising class levels quickly. If I had been figuring it out from scratch, it would have taken me several more years just to unlock the class.

‘Now that I think about it again, Ian’s class level is high for his age.’

[Hunter (Lv. 10)]

- You can use the skill [Search].

- Your senses become sharper.

- Senses +10, Mentality +10

‘Ten years of experience at twenty-five? Just how desperately has he been living?’

When a class reached Level 10, you learned a skill, and at that point, you were considered to have entered the ranks of masters.

In other words, Ian had become a master at the young age of twenty-five.

"That’s actually kind of admirable."

As practice, I used the Hunter’s skill for the first time, and I became able to perceive the beings within a radius centered on myself.

There was a reason Hunters were considered specialists.

[Reina]

[Human Female]

[Human Female]

[Human Female]

‘The range is roughly ten meters per point of Mana? It’s not much different from the game.’

If there was one difference, it was that using the skill gave me quite a headache.

‘I’ll get used to it eventually.’

That was enough of a break. I swung my sword again.

I planned to reach Swordsman Level 2 before tonight was over.

‘I need to be at least Level 3 to be safe.’

To obtain the Big-Dick Herb, I had to take down a group of goblins.

Goblins might be the weakest monsters, but this was the kind of world where letting your guard down could get you killed in an instant.

It would not hurt to get somewhat accustomed to the sword, just in case.

‘This is fucking exhausting.’

The process was grueling and difficult, of course, but I trained without complaint.

‘This is a one-coin game. I have to prepare thoroughly and work like hell.’

I could not forget.

Ian was the protagonist, but he was an NTR protagonist.

I could not put him on the same level as other protagonists whose lives were paved with lucky encounters.

‘He might be even more pathetic than a supporting character.’

I had to assume that no unexpected stroke of luck would come to me.

That was why I had to steel myself.

Otherwise, everything would be taken from me.

[You have become a Swordsman (Lv. 2).]

[You have become a Swordsman (Lv. 3).]

[You have become a Swordsman (Lv. 4).]

"Huh?"

But my class was growing far faster than I had expected.

"Am I some kind of genius?"

. . .

[Swordsman (Lv. 5)]

- Your understanding of swordsmanship increases.

- Agility +5, Senses +5

That was the class level I had reached after swinging my sword for a full half day.

"Wow~ I blew through five years’ worth of experience in six hours!"

This was the kind of achievement that could only be called genius-level. At this rate, I could be compared to a Hero.

Unfortunately, though, I was not a genius, and this body belonged to Ian in the first place.

‘Then why?’

Two hypotheses immediately came to mind.

One was that Ian had originally been a genius.

Since I had possessed the body of a genius, it would not be strange for me to display genius-level growth.

‘But he doesn’t really seem like a genius.’

I did not feel as though I possessed any extraordinary talent, and Ian had not shown any genius-level feats in the game either.

Of course, even an NTR protagonist was still a protagonist, so he did have his moments in the game. But those were merely the fruits of Ian’s diligent efforts.

That naturally lent weight to the other hypothesis.

‘Ian must have possessed swordsmanship at least equivalent to a Level 5 Swordsman from the start.’

A Hunter needed to know how to handle both a sword and a bow as a matter of course.

Ian had been an excellent Hunter, so his swordsmanship must have been quite good as well.

However, since he had been unable to unlock the class as I did, he could not raise his class level. Only his actual skill had accumulated.

Then, after my possession unlocked the class, its level had rapidly risen to match Ian’s original proficiency.

‘That seems the most plausible.’

My gaze shifted to the bow.

Ian’s archery in A Country Village’s Circumstances had been incredible.

He might even have a higher level in that than he did as a Swordsman.

‘Was the condition for unlocking Archer ten hits on living targets?’

I wanted to head into the forest and unlock the Archer class right away, but it was already dark, so I could not recklessly fire arrows.

‘Well, it won’t be too late if I try tomorrow morning.’

When my Swordsman level showed no further signs of rising, I immediately left the prayer room.

I was about to carry out the next part of my plan when my eyes met Reina’s. She had been waiting outside.

"Have you been waiting for me all this time?"

"Of course. It is the duty of us nuns to guide the lambs along their path."

There was something sacred about Reina as she answered with a gentle smile.

It was hard to believe that this woman was the same perverted nun who wandered around the church naked.

‘Well, even if Reina is a pervert, she fulfilled her duties as a nun well before she fell.’

There was a reason she had risen as far as a candidate for sainthood.

"Brother, as I said earlier, you must not stare at my face too much~"

"I know that in my head, but it isn’t easy. My apologies."

"I’ll forgive you just this once... Oh my?"

Reina looked at my chest, then soon wore a startled expression.

"I can sense the Goddess’s divinity from you, Brother."

"Yes. Helia answered my prayer."

"It is not easy to receive the Goddess’s oracle through prayer alone. Your faith is admirable, Brother."

"I can only be grateful to Helia."

Apparently pleased with my answer, Reina gave me a radiant smile.

"People with faith as deep as yours are always welcome, so please visit the church often from now on."

"I’ll come often if only to see you, Sister."

"You mustn’t come because of me."

"I see. I have misspoken again."

"Hehe, be careful from now on."

After bidding Reina farewell, I promptly left the church.

It was already pitch-black outside.

True to a country village, once the sun set, night came at once.

And on nights like this, secret affairs took place.

‘If they’re following the scenario, the two of them should be meeting around now.’

To confirm it, I headed straight to my in-laws’ house.

Then I used the Hunter’s skill once more.

[Adelia]

[Isabelle]

‘Just as I thought.’

Isolde was not at home.

Where would a fully grown maiden be going this late at night?

‘I’m sure it was this way.’

I followed the riverbank toward the mill.

Since ancient times, the mill in a country village had been where secret trysts took place.

And secret trysts were usually matters between a man and a woman.

[Isolde]

[Human Male]

‘There they are.’

From inside the mill, I could hear Isolde raising her voice at a human man.

I listened closely outside the mill, eavesdropping on their conversation.

"John, how much longer are you going to make me wait? At this rate, I’m really going to get married."

"Just wait a little longer. I’ll talk to my father."

"Your father is the one who brought that man here!"

Apparently annoyed by Isolde’s raised voice, the man named John clicked his tongue.

Then, as if nothing had happened, he spoke in an affectionate voice.

"My father just doesn’t know any better. Once I explain it to him, it’ll be fine, so don’t worry for no reason."

"Do you really intend to marry me, John?"

"Of course. Every night, I dream of married life with you, Isolde. So don’t worry. Trust me and wait. You trust me, don’t you, Isolde?"

"...Of course I do."

Unlike her usual arrogant demeanor, Isolde showed a vulnerable side, like a girl in love, before the man named John.

‘She’s completely fallen for him.’

John was the village chief’s son, a handsome man everyone acknowledged.

On top of that, he was the chief’s only son. When the chief died, John could inherit everything he owned.

Naturally, he was not even comparable to Ian, who was ugly and had no roots in the village.

‘So what? She’s going to get pumped and dumped anyway.’

They acted as if they could not live without each other, but contrary to his romantic words, John had not the slightest intention of marrying Isolde.

The reason?

Isolde’s personality.

John was not as broad-minded as Ian. He could not put up with Isolde, who was usually hysterical and did not know how to do housework.

Of course, he acted as though he wanted to marry Isolde, but in the end, John would marry a woman obedient to him rather than Isolde.

To begin with, Isolde was nothing more than an easy woman he could fuck whenever he wanted.

‘Looking at this, those two really are made for each other.’

Isolde, who would abandon her husband and commit adultery with John, and John, who used another man’s wife like his personal fleshlight.

Ian was the sucker who would be used and discarded between the two of them.

‘This is why I can’t just let them run loose. I should lend them a hand.’

Today, I intended to play Cupid for those two.

Of course, what kind of ruin their relationship would meet was none of my concern.
