"...Jonne."
It was a bad situation.
The Nuclear Magic used by the Primordial Demon Jonne kept raining down toward [Eldorado], destroying buildings one after another.
'I'm fine, but at the level of the Magic Knights, there's no way they can stop all of those attacks...'
A man with long, bright golden hair and a dark navy coat frowned as he surveyed the area.
His name was Leon Cromwell, a man who gave off a cold, absolute charisma, as if he were someone incapable of emotion.
He was the ruler of [Eldorado] and one of the Heroes of the age.
'...For someone forcibly descended into the Central World, she's sure running wild.'
At this very moment, he was locked in battle with Jonne, the Primordial Demon who had suddenly descended upon [Eldorado].
'Damn it... until the evacuation of the civilians is completely finished, I have no choice but to block everything myself.'
In truth, defeating the current Jonne was not particularly difficult for Leon.
When a Primordial Demon without a body or a name forced its way down to the surface, it could not bring out even a tenth of its original power. Compared to a Hero armed with an Ultimate Skill and God-grade equipment, it fell far short.
In fact, Jonne knew that as well, so whenever it looked like she was being pushed back, it had become routine for her to immediately flee back to hell.
But for some reason, starting a few years ago, Jonne had suddenly become far more violent, and the standoff had continued in a state that even Leon could not easily contain.
Of course, even if she had grown more savage, the total amount of her power had not changed, so Leon still had the higher chance of victory. But he was in a position where he had to protect this continent and its people.
And so, as in the current situation, the standoff had reversed into one that favored Jonne instead.
"Damn you... Jonne... what is it you even want? How long do you intend to keep attacking this country?!"
A furious shout overflowing with rage.
Leon rarely let irritation into his voice, but now that sharp anger rang out across the skies of [Eldorado].
Boom!! Boom! Booooom!!
He had not shouted because he expected an answer. He had long since given up hoping that a demon no better than a mad beast would respond.
But this time was different.
Several dozen seconds after his cry echoed out, the lights of Nuclear Magic, which had been pouring down like a torrential storm, abruptly stopped.
Then, something small and yellow slowly descended toward the ground.
There was no need to say what it was.
It was the Primordial Demon Jonne.
"...What do I want to do?"
Jonne descended until she reached a height where Leon could clearly meet her gaze.
Leon had never believed that Jonne would actually stop attacking, and surprise flickered across his face.
But Jonne ignored that rare expression of his completely and kept speaking.
"Obviously, I'm venting my anger! This continent is nothing more than a place for me to let out my rage! You people are the ones who barged in, claimed this place as your country, and got in my way, so how dare you tell me not to be angry at you?!"
Rumble—!!!
Magic power thick with fury, so dense it could almost be mistaken for hatred, spread through the air.
The nearby knights, the Magic Knights, trembled all over just from standing close to her.
It was possible because, in terms of sheer magic power alone, this demon's aura could be compared to Guy Crimson.
'This is... far stronger than the "will" I felt from her a few years ago... what in the world happened to her...?'
Leon, whose physical body did not fall behind even that of a Saint, gradually began to tremble.
His body was reacting to that rage.
To the fury Jonne was releasing now, something she had never shown before.
"...I'll kill them. The ones who covet what's mine, and the ones who sneer like it belongs to them... I'll kill every last one of them!"
With Jonne's scream, a monstrous amount of magic power began to gather.
"Damn it...!!"
Realizing what she was about to do, Leon hurriedly drew up his own magic power.
Before his mind could even fully process that countless casualties would follow if he failed to stop it, his body moved on instinct.
'She's going to use that spell in the Central World? Has she lost her mind?!'
What Jonne was preparing was a Nuclear Magic spell with the highest possible lethality.
Her specialty—[Gravity Collapse].
Normally, because there was not enough magic power in the Central World, it was something she only used remotely through the [Netherworld Gates].
But whether she had truly gone mad or not, the current Jonne was trying to use that spell at point-blank range from [Eldorado].
"Stop, Jonne!! Have you forgotten that if you use that here, you won't come out of it unharmed either?!"
"Shut your mouth! Don't you dare act like you have any right to interfere!!!"
Even with Leon trying to stop her, Jonne stubbornly pushed ahead with the Nuclear Magic.
Wooooooooong!!!!!
At last, the Abyss Core compressed tighter and tighter, as if it were about to explode.
'Damn it, now it's too late—'
The faces of the people watching turned pale as they imagined the disaster that was about to unfold.
However—
'Dwargo Fourth Secret Art: Heavenly Star.'
The catastrophe of that Nuclear Magic exploding never came to pass.
Gugugugung...!!!
A sword strike fell like a massive meteor.
Because a swordsman's blade severed the Abyss Core apart.
"Fortunately—"
In a single, fleeting instant.
"—it looks like I'm not too late."
At that unprecedented display of swordsmanship, Leon's eyes widened slightly. He was one of the finest swordsmen in the world, and even he had never seen such a technique before.
"You are..."
Reflected in Leon's gaze was a swordsman with ash-gray hair.
A third party had entered the battlefield.
"..."
His blue eyes, carrying the natural will of a conqueror, passed over Leon.
Then—
"It's been a long time, Lady Jonne."
With a calm gaze, he looked straight at the tyrant of destruction.
