Midoriya had arrived at school.
He went into the classroom, but the atmosphere was dark.

Then Midoriya sat down at his desk.
Aizawa came in and started homeroom.
Aizawa called the students’ names one by one to check attendance.
"Midoriya."

And everyone’s name was called except Bakugo’s.
Midoriya called out to Aizawa.
"Sensei, you didn’t call Kac...chan’s name."

Then Aizawa delivered a shocking piece of news.
"Bakugo submitted a withdrawal form."

Everyone was stunned.

"He seems to think All Might’s death was his fault."

Aizawa couldn’t say anything.
Midoriya stood up and left the classroom.
"Deku-kun!!"
Midoriya went to Bakugo’s house.

Bakugo’s mother came out.

"Is Kac...chan here?"

"Yes..."
Midoriya went into Bakugo’s house.
The first thing he saw inside was a sheet of paper on the table covered in criticism written by other people.

Bakugo’s mother knocked on Bakugo’s door.
"Bakugo, come out."
"....."
No sound came from the room.
Then Midoriya forced Bakugo’s door open.
"Ah... Midoriya...."
What he saw when the door opened was a wall blackened by the traces of an explosion.
"What the hell... Deku...."
"Kac...chan...."
Midoriya looked at Bakugo.
Bakugo’s eyes were worn out and hollow.
"W-why did you withdraw?"
"......What can a weak guy like me do as a hero...? It was all just a pointless dream..."
Midoriya objected to Bakugo’s words.
"Don’t!! Say that!! A pointless dream...? The Kac...chan I admired would never say something like that!!"
"What the hell do you!! Know... to go spouting off like that!!! Damn Deku!!!"
Bakugo grabbed Midoriya by the collar and shouted.
"What the hell do you know!! Do you know the helplessness I felt there!! If I... if I hadn’t been caught!!! All Might would...! He wouldn’t have died...."
Bakugo shouted through tears of rage.
"He wouldn’t have died!!!"
"That’s!! Not Kac...chan’s fault!!"
"It is my fault!! My fault for getting caught like an idiot!!"
Midoriya punched Bakugo.
Bakugo took the blow and fell backward.
"Ghk... What the hell are you doing!! Damn Deku!!!"
"Kac...chan... has always been someone who never gives up and keeps moving forward. I admired that!! But a Kac...chan who collapses over something like this and gives up is not Kac...chan!!"
"What did you say!!"
Bakugo threw a punch at Midoriya, and Midoriya threw one back.
"Ugh!"
"Guh..."
Then they started trading punches.
"What the hell do you know!! To judge me like that!! Damn Deku!!!"
"I know!! I’ve been watching you since way back!!"
They fought without dodging each other’s fists.
"You got something from All Might!! But I!! I erased the existence of All Might!!"
"..."
"I can’t get All Might’s final moments out of my head!!!"
"So you were carrying that all this time... much more than someone like me....!"
"So!! Get out of my face!!!"
"I’m not leaving. All Might said it himself: meddling where you don’t need to is the essence of being a hero!! Until Kac...chan goes back to school, I’m staying!!"
"Then try it!!!"
And so they kept fighting.
When the fistfight ended, Bakugo and Midoriya were both lying on the floor.
"Haa... haa..."
"Haa... haa... damn Deku..."
Midoriya stood up and held out his hand to Kac...chan.
"Let’s go together, Kac...chan."
"...."
Then Bakugo took Midoriya’s hand and stood up.
"Damn Deku."
Bakugo’s mother watched the scene with tears in her eyes.
And so Midoriya and Bakugo went back to school.
Bakugo went to Aizawa.
"Hey, teacher. You didn’t already process that, did you?"
"....Haa..."
Then Aizawa took Bakugo’s withdrawal form out of the drawer.
"I haven’t taken it to the principal yet."
Then Bakugo snatched the form away and burned it to ashes with an explosion.
"...."
Bakugo returned to the classroom.
The other students gathered around him.
"Bakugo!!!"
"We were so worried about you!!"
"Shut up!!!"
Midoriya watched the classmates surround Bakugo.

Mahito was walking around the streets, humming to himself.
