After All Might’s death, society still hadn’t descended into chaos.
Midoriya and the others handed Bakugo over to the police.
But Bakugo’s expression was very dark.
"Kac...chan..."
Midoriya looked at him like that.
Then Midoriya parted from his classmates and went home.
"I’m home."
"O-oh... welcome back, Izuku..."
"Yeah."
Izuku went into his room and sat on the bed.
He couldn’t get All Might’s final moments out of his head.

Then Midoriya started investigating Mahito.
And while he was looking into him, Midoriya fell asleep.

There, he saw All Might in his true form.
"A... ahh.... All Might!!"
Midoriya spotted All Might and ran toward him.
"Young man..."
And All Might raised his hand and struck Midoriya.
"SMASH!!"
"Uwaaah!!"
Midoriya collapsed onto the ground.
"Young man, how long are you going to keep sitting there?"
"All Might..."
Then All Might began speaking seriously.
"Give up on revenge, Midoriya boy."
"Huh?"
"That path is not yours."
Then All Might pointed at the horizon over the sea and said,
"What you want is to be the greatest hero, is it not!!"
"All... Might..."
Midoriya said tearfully.
"B-but..."
"Even if I die, even if my friend dies, the path we walked was not wrong. What about you...?"
"I..."
Then All Might helped Midoriya to his feet.
"Go, young man. There is a path that suits you..."
Midoriya cried and smiled brightly.
"Yes!"
Then Midoriya crossed over the sea and walked toward the horizon.
Yeah, this is the path I chose... the path All Might gave me... I almost dirtied it...
As he walked toward the horizon, he heard a voice from behind him.
"Is that really enough for you...?"
"!!"
When Midoriya turned around, there was a dark version of himself.
"You...?!"
And the sea turned into a blood-red tide, and the sky was dyed crimson.
The dark Midoriya said,
"Are you going to erase Iida-kun and Kota-kun’s deaths as if they never happened...?"
"That’s..."
"Are you denying the urge to kill that’s rising up inside you...?"
"Th-that’s wrong!! No matter how much of a villain they are, killing them..."
Then Kota and Iida rose up from the sea and grabbed Midoriya’s legs as they spoke.
"Mi...dori...yaaa..."
"Mi...dori...ya... bro..."
Midoriya panicked when he saw Kota and Iida.
"Iida-kun... Kota-kun..."
Midoriya sank down and tried to drown in the sea.
"If that’s all the resolve you have, then just go to sleep."
As Midoriya was being pulled under, someone appeared and pulled him out.
"Uwaah!!"
[You made it in time.]
He had white hair and half-lidded eyes.
"You are..."
[Save the introductions for later. For now, let’s get out of here.]
Then Midoriya felt as if he were being sucked toward the horizon.
"Huh...?"
And Midoriya disappeared into the horizon.
[Now that he’s gone, let’s talk.]
"What are you, a ghost?"
[Hahaha, so you do know me.]
"Shut up, loser."
[Maybe I am.]
He had eyes full of regret.
[But he must not sink into despair like I did and curse himself.]
"....."
Then the dark Midoriya looked at him and said,
"That guy’s life was cursed from the start. What’s the problem with a little more of that so-called ‘curse’?”
[Well... you were trying to eat him.]

Then the sky began to crack.

He looked at the dark Midoriya and said,

And the world shattered, and Midoriya woke up.

Midoriya woke up drenched in sweat.
It felt like I had some really important dream...
Then Midoriya heard that school was closed and went to All Might’s funeral.
There were top heroes there, along with top heroes from overseas, and the place was packed with teachers, students, and civilians.
People were crying as they looked at All Might’s portrait.
Midoriya offered only a brief greeting before leaving right away.
"Ugh!!"
Midoriya gagged.
"Haa... haa...."
Then someone approached him from the side.
"There you are, Deku."
"Gran Torino..."
It was Gran Torino.
So Midoriya spoke with Gran Torino.
"I’ll be taking over All Might’s place as the basic hero studies teacher."
"What!?"
"Of course."
Then he pointed at Midoriya and said,
"All Might asked me to take care of what comes next. So naturally, this is the next step."
"But isn’t your teaching license suspended?"
"That was specially pardoned. Toshinori’s successor is you. The next Symbol of Peace is you, Midoriya Izuku."
"The next Symbol of Peace..."
"So be prepared. At school, I’ll work you even harder."
"Yes!"
After that, Gran Torino left, and Midoriya also went home.
And a few days later, school started again.
Bakugo still didn’t come to school.
