Chapter 14: A Day in the Fleet

Chirp, chirp, chirp.

The birdsong drifting in from outside and the fresh morning sunlight announcing the dawn stabbed at my eyes. Thanks to the hangover crashing over me, my head throbbed violently. It felt as if my skull were about to split open, as if someone had taken a hammer to it. Well, that was only natural, considering how much liquor I’d downed yesterday.

When I opened my eyes and regained consciousness, I saw an unfamiliar ceiling. This wasn’t the room I’d slept in when I first arrived in this world. That meant someone must have carried my drunken self here. Did Yui bring me? Thinking that, I reached to the side of the bed to sit up.

Squish, squish.

“Mmm... ♥”

?????????

No, what was that lewd sound?

Come to think of it, what was this warm sensation? Soft, squishy, plush... it felt like...

“Huh...!”

Looking to either side, I saw Cleveland and Montpelier sleeping soundly while clinging to my arms. Should I call it a feast of gold and silver? To anyone else, it would have been a heartwarming sight, but absolutely not to me. I couldn’t tell whether I’d gotten drunk and pounced on them, or whether I’d been the one pounced upon.

Alcohol had truly become our family. Gyaaaah.

Maybe she felt my movement, because Cleveland rubbed her eyes cutely and sat up. Then she looked at me and smiled brightly.

“Hehe, good morning, Commander?”

“Uh... uh...”

Still dazed, I could only stare as she leaned in and gave me a short kiss. It was the kind of loving kiss shared between lovers. When she pulled back, she touched her lips and smiled seductively. Because her expression was so different from the Cleveland I knew, she looked almost dazzling.

“Hehehe, thank you for the meal... ♥ And you’re still healthy down there, Commander... ♥”

After gently stroking the part of me that had risen on its own and smiling temptingly, she kissed me once more and whispered,

“Um, Commander... how about one more time..?”

Still not fully awake, I was seduced as Cleveland approached in a panther-like pose, climbed on top of me, and wrapped her small, compact body around mine. Then she breathed a sultry sigh into my ear.

That was the final line of defense for my reason.

After that, once Montpelier woke up from the vibrations, we had a chaotic three-way.

======

“Ugh, my back...”

That was way too much first thing in the morning. I firmly resolved to get some tonic from Akashi if I ever ran into her. Thinking I might as well go for a walk, I stepped outside. As I strolled around and looked at my surroundings, I sensed someone running toward me from afar. Silver hair fluttering, a large chest bouncing as she ran—she was none other than...

“Ah, at last I’ve found you, my beloved master.”

Belfast, the head of the Royal Maids.

“Ah, Belfast, did you perhaps have something to say...?”

Having straightened her disheveled appearance from the run, Belfast returned to her proper, dignified posture and explained why she had come.

“Of course. I came to serve breakfast to my beloved master. Now then, would you care to come with me to the Royal Navy?”

Hearing Belfast, I thought this might be a good chance to visit all the fleet factions. I figured I should see the girls, hear what they wanted, and grant what I could.

“Yes, let’s go then.”

“Yes, and Master...?”

Belfast stepped closer and inhaled my scent. Then she frowned, and the light vanished from her eyes.

“Which filthy woman dared to leave her stench on my beloved master? How disgusting. We must purify this odor, which is not even fit to be called grease.”

Then she hugged me tight. A bear hug. She wrapped her arms around my waist so firmly that her large breasts pressed hard against my body, and she started rubbing herself against me from side to side to cover me with her own scent.

Rub, rub.

“Ahhh, Belfast’s scent is overwriting the Master. I’m starting to get excited.”

She rubbed against me so much that I started sweating, and my little guy began to wake up. Noticing that, Belfast smiled seductively and suggested,

“Master, if you’d like to do it outdoors, I’m fully prepared... ♥ Just tell me what kind of play you want, and I’ll do my best to suit your wishes, Master. ♥”

No, if this kept up, I’d really die. I could practically see death by overexertion right in front of me. And outdoor play really didn’t seem like the move, so I gently pushed Belfast away.

“Let’s really do that later, okay? Later. If this keeps up, I’m going to die, Bell.”

At my words, Belfast stepped back with a regretful look, but when she heard me call her Bell, she seemed startled and asked again.

“Master, did you perhaps mean me when you said Bell?”

“Ah, yes. Belfast is a bit long, so I took the first syllable and called you Bell. Was that rude?”

“Not at all, Master. I’m so happy. At last, you have bestowed a name upon me. This is the moment my existence is newly defined. I am yours, after all. My adored master. ♥”

Watching Bell blush and writhe in excitement made me feel strangely afraid. Could I really manage this fleet properly? Somehow, the future looked pitch-black.

======

The Royal Navy in my world was modeled after the British fleet of World War II. Maybe that was why they all seemed so refined—always holding tea parties, embodying chivalry, with the maids supporting everything from behind. And above them all ruled their queen, Queen Elizabeth. That was probably the right way to describe them: noble.

But I never imagined it would turn out like this.

“““““Welcome, our most noble Master.”””””

I never dreamed I’d receive this kind of treatment.

Led by Bell, I entered the Royal Navy quarters to find a red carpet laid out, with Royal Navy maids standing neatly on both sides, offering me the utmost courtesy they could manage.

Up ahead were the battleships and carriers I had built. King George V at the forefront, along with Prince of Wales, Duke of York, Warspite, Monarch, Hood, Renown, Nelson, Rodney, Illustrious, Centaur, and so on—ships I had constructed. Then King George V boomed,

“Everyone, offer your hearts to our source of life and our noble Commander!”

“““All Hail Admiral!”””

Everyone drew their swords and raised them above my head. Just like an honor guard at a military wedding raising their blades to celebrate the bride and groom, they were doing this for me. As I walked forward under their salute, I saw the one presiding over everything.

Seated elegantly with Neptune and Sirius at her sides was none other than...

Queen Elizabeth, eternally thirteen.

“Isn’t this a little too much of a welcome?”

“Fufufu, for the Commander of this academy, this isn’t too much at all!”

But if they went this far, my stomach was going to give out...

“Could I maybe get some food first?”

More than anything, I wanted food. I’d been dragged here under the pretense of being fed by Bell, after all!

============

The garden was bright with sunlight and cooled by a pleasant breeze.

I ended up eating brunch here.

“No, I want rice...”

“Commander, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. It’s almost 10 a.m., so it’s awkward to call it breakfast, isn’t it? That’s why a light brunch followed by lunch is the best choice.”

As Queen Elizabeth said, by the time I’d woken up, it was already past the usual breakfast hour, around late nine o’clock. Since I’d been dragged here at ten, it was too late for breakfast and too early for lunch. So I decided that a simple brunch now and lunch later would be better. While I waited, the maids brought tea, eggs Benedict, toast, waffles, bacon, and other light dishes.

Then Bell quickly came up beside me and handed me a plate with black tea and eggs Benedict.

“Here you are, Master. Today’s tea is Earl Grey, and the food is toast and eggs Benedict.”

“Ah, thank you, Bell.”

I cut into the eggs Benedict with a knife, split the poached egg over the toast so the yolk spilled out, admired it for a moment, and then ate. The savory aroma spreading through my mouth and the rich, slightly greasy taste of the egg played upon my tongue. Then I washed it down with the Earl Grey. Its tart, bitter flavor was exactly to my taste.

“This is truly delicious.”

“Fufu, you flatter me. And if you’ll excuse me for a moment.”

Bell took out a handkerchief and wiped my mouth for me. Apparently, I’d been careless and gotten something on the corner of my lips while eating. I thanked her again honestly, then returned my attention to the food.

By the time I’d finished the eggs Benedict and was savoring my tea, Monarch, who was seated beside me, asked,

“Commander, may I ask where you were staying?”

“Ah, I was at the Union quarters yesterday. Was something wrong?”

“No, nothing. I’ll tell you later.”

Just as I was wondering what she was about to say, Queen Elizabeth, sitting in front of me, spoke.

“Commander, would you not become a Duke of the Royal Navy?”

“Huh?”
