Chapter 33: Ch. 33 Sosuke Aizen!

Today's update, here we go!

“She should be coming soon.”

It felt like roughly eleven years and three months had finally trickled by since I first reincarnated. While pinpointing the exact passage of time in this moonlit wasteland is impossible, I knew 'Is' would arrive shortly. For context, 'Is' is my personal nickname for Sosuke Aizen. I considered calling her 'A-ke' by taking the first and last characters of her name, but 'Is' just rolled off the tongue better.

Since our paths crossed, I had been busy conquering Hueco Mundo on her behalf. 'Conquering' sounds like a grand, heroic feat, but the reality was far more pragmatic. I simply filled the nine vacant seats of the Espada, suppressed any unruly Hollows, purged the ones who refused to bow, and gathered enough allies to make it look like an army. It wasn't particularly difficult. If anything, it was mind-numbingly dull.

“At least spending that tedious time with Tibel made it bearable.”

Thanks to Tibel—who had been showing quite a bit more emotion lately—my days were actually quite entertaining. I’d also managed to strike up a decent friendship with a like-minded fellow named Starrk. While Grimmjow and Nnoitra constantly tried to pick fights or annoy me, I simply brushed them off. Sadly, I hadn't seen Nelliel yet; Nnoitra had already finished his little betrayal and shattered her mask before I could intervene.

“Nelliel's full power would certainly rival Tibel's. It really is a waste.”

Tracking her down wouldn't be hard, but the mask was the issue. Unless I had access to Orihime’s 'Santen Kesshun' to reject the very phenomenon of its breaking, repairing that mask was impossible. Well, maybe the Captain of the 4th Division could pull it off, but there’s no way a Soul Reaper would lift a finger to help a Hollow.

“Hmm, once Orihime eventually gets kidnapped, should I have her heal Nelliel?”

That seemed like a solid plan. I hadn't given much thought to Nelliel until now, but since the gears were turning, I decided it was time to send a few lackeys out to fetch her.

“Is someone out there?”

“Yes! You called, sir?”

“Go out and find an Arrancar named Nel. She’s likely with two others. She’ll look like a small child and won't have much power. But listen carefully: she’s going to be a crucial asset later. Bring her back with the utmost respect. The moment you find her, bring her directly to me. Don't let the other Espada get their hands on her.”

“Understood!”

A nameless Arrancar who had been stationed outside stepped in to receive the order, but for some reason, he didn't look particularly reliable. I started to worry if a weakling like him could even handle Nelliel’s two Fracción—was it Pesche Guatiche and Dondochakka? Either way, I had my doubts.

“I really should have found a trustworthy Fracción of my own by now.”

I currently lacked any personal subordinates. To be more precise, I hadn't found anyone I liked. Ideally, I wanted a Fracción who was female and cute—you know, someone easy on the eyes—but my search had come up empty. As a result, the position of my right hand was still vacant. I didn't have a single person in my inner circle I could truly count on.

“Should I tell those three to go get them?”

I briefly considered asking Tibel’s trio—Mila Rose, Sung-Sun, and Apacci—but decided against it. What’s hers is mine in a sense, but since she treasures her subordinates, it was better not to order them around like errand boys.

“Tch! Is there seriously no useful subordinate around here?”

Most of the other Espada had at least one Fracción following them like a puppy, but I was flying solo. It wasn't that I was being bullied or excluded; I just really wanted a subordinate of my own. Once Nelliel arrives, I'm definitely recruiting her on the spot.
