Chapter 22: Ch. 22 Turmoil in Hueco Mundo!

The day after Baraggan's subordinate visited, I slowly made my way toward Baraggan's palace to stretch my limbs. Baraggan Louisenbairn—arrogant as he may be, his combat ability is undeniably top-tier. I don't know why he ended up as the Segunda Espada in the original timeline, but based on his ability alone, he’s a match for even the Primera Espada. The power of Senescence—it was the most ideal form of death, after all.

“But still, I suppose I have to kill him.”

It would be magnificent to have Baraggan as a subordinate, but that seemed impossible. If that was the case, there was no choice but to end him. Baraggan’s personality is the type to aim for your back the moment he sees an opening. Therefore, killing him cleanly and certainly was the appropriate move.

“Under the sky of this Las Noches, there can’t be two kings.”

“Who goes there?! This is the palace of Lord Baraggan!”

“You shall not enter uninvited!”

As I arrived at the front of Baraggan’s palace, the two Adjuchas guarding the gate shouted. Of course, knowing full well this was Baraggan’s palace, I simply walked past them and opened the gate. In an instant, the two Adjuchas erupted their Reiatsu, attempting to launch an attack at me.

“Die.”

However, before they could even strike, both disintegrated into powder, scattering in the wind to become just more grains of sand in Hueco Mundo. While passing between them, I had used the power of death to touch their bodies just once. That touch became the genesis of their demise, stealing their lives in a heartbeat.

“My, my. To receive such a welcome as an uninvited guest. I’m touched.”

Stepping inside the palace, dozens of Adjuchas revealed themselves, each radiating clear hostility. Having felt the Reiatsu of the outer guards vanish, they had gathered on their own to defend the palace. But no matter how many Adjuchas huddle together, before a Vasto Lorde, they are all the same.

“Die, intruder who dared trespass into Lord Baraggan’s palace!”

They all rushed forward, chanting Baraggan’s name. This is what people call moths flying into a flame. I smiled and reached out my hands toward all of them.

“Come, you who hasten your own deaths.”

“It is noisy outside.”

The King of Hueco Mundo, master of this palace, and the one known as the Great Emperor—Baraggan Louisenbairn, a skeleton wearing a crown—spoke from his throne. An Adjuchas standing below him replied.

“It is because we are currently eliminating an intruder, Sire.”

“An intruder? It has been a long time since I last heard that word.”

Baraggan let out a sneer at the mention of an intruder, arrogantly resting his chin on his right hand. He spoke that way because, until now, no intruder had ever made it far enough into the palace for him to personally deal with. He believed, as always, that his loyal Adjuchas would cleanly dispose of the pest. However, one could say his luck had run out this time.

Slide.

“So, this is where you were, Baraggan Louisenbairn.”

The one who opened the door and entered was not his subordinates reporting victory, but a Hollow clad in a black mask and black armor. No—seeing that his form was so human-like, Baraggan could tell he was no ordinary Hollow.

“Ho? The intruder this time is a Vasto Lorde.”

Baraggan watched the intruder, still arrogantly leaning his chin on his hand. This was the moment that would serve as both the first and the last meeting between Lucifer La El and Baraggan Louisenbairn.
