I’m throwing this out today too!
It has already been six years since I killed Baraggan and first met Aizen. For six years, instead of appearing, he had remained remarkably quiet. However, just moments ago, Aizen's Reiatsu pulsed clearly through the air. He was likely calling for me. I was certain that if I went to where he was, a man of his temperament would have a meticulous plan waiting. I suppose I’ll have to show him that no plan of his works against me.
"It’s been a while. Might as well stretch my legs."
If I go to meet Aizen, there will be Arrancars there. Most likely Espada-class. They might be weaker for now, but they will undoubtedly be equal to or even surpass Vasto Lorde. Beings that have crossed the boundary between Hollow and Soul Reaper. I can't judge an Arrancar by standard Hollow benchmarks anymore.
"This should be interesting."
But it didn't matter who the opponent was. Everything is ultimately meaningless before Death. No matter how strong they are, if they are a living being that possesses the concept of mortality, they cannot defeat me.
"It’s a relief that Tibel and the Adjuchas are out hunting."
It’s not constant, but Adjuchas must fight to avoid regression. Especially since female Adjuchas are prime prey for the males, Tibel always accompanies them when they go out to hunt. Today happened to be one of those hunting days.
"I should wrap this up quickly and get back."
I needed to dismantle Aizen's plan and return before Tibel made it home.
"I suppose I should say it's been a long time."
He was alone, sitting upon Baraggan’s ruined throne amidst the desolation, radiating a palpable Reiatsu. Those were my first words of greeting upon meeting Sosuke Aizen. To my greeting, Aizen responded with a light gesture of his own.
"It has been quite a while. Tell me, has your answer from back then changed?"
"Who knows? First, show me those things you call Arrancars."
"I have invited many of them specifically to entertain you."
As he spoke, Arrancars began to manifest one by one from the surroundings. There were twenty of them in total, all emitting Reiatsu that rivaled or exceeded a Vasto Lorde. Among them, one Arrancar particularly stood out.
"Hohohoho! So you’re the rude little thing who dared to decline Lord Aizen’s offer? Hohohoho!"
Crack! Crack!
Between the laughter, the provocative attire, and the whip she held in one hand, she exuded a total 'Queen' aura. Unlike the others, her mask remnant was only on one side of her head and her appearance was fully human. She was a true Espada-class Arrancar who had awakened from a Vasto Lorde.
"This might take a bit more time than I thought."
"Then, let me ask again. Do you feel like becoming my comrade?"
Aizen flashed that same self-assured smirk as before. To his request to become his ally, I gave the same refusal once more.
"I’ll say it again. No. I have no intention of becoming a chess piece on your board."
"I wanted to invite you politely, but it seems that is quite a shame. In that case, I shall have to claim you through force."
The affected smile vanished from Aizen’s face, replaced by a cold, expressionless gaze as he looked down at me. He raised a hand and pointed at me, signaling the start of the slaughter.
Taaat!
"Hurry up and crush that man! Hohohoho!"
"Yes! Hilda!"
As expected, the Arrancars lunged forward at the crack of the whip from the woman named Hilda, who seemed to be their commander. Since things had turned out like this, I had no choice but to get serious.
"I declare... to all those who rush toward me... I shall grant you... Death."
I spread my arms in a benevolent gesture as if to embrace them all, while simultaneously pronouncing their sentence. Following my words, my ash-silver Reiatsu erupted from my body like a volcanic explosion.
Post! Post! Post!
I'm a cool guy, so I won't go on hiatus!
Though my feelings are a bit hurt, kehe. To think someone dared to write a copy-paste story without permission. I checked that cafe, and well... whew, I won't even say anything. I see why it's a private cafe. They didn't even apologize? After blatant plagiarism? Kehe, it's hilarious that they're a cafe staff member too, kehe. No apology. Truly an artistic level of behavior!
Anyway, as I said yesterday, I might not upload much after this one... but I'm a cool guy! I'm definitely not discouraged because someone said I shouldn't call this amount of content a multi-chapter release! Because I'm cool!
By the way, the character Hilda appearing in this chapter is an original 'Queen' character with power at the Espada level. I explained that her appearance is different from the others. Also, does anyone here know Spanish? The Espadas' Resurrección are all in Spanish... my English is bad enough, so that's a struggle. For now, I'll write the names, and if someone could tell me how to say things like 'Murciélago' or 'Arrogante', I can use them in the translations.
Now that I think about it, why are all novel protagonists so 'cool'?
Soul Reaper Chronicles MC: Becomes calm and cool through training (for image management).
HOD MC: Cool guy until he starts flagging heroines (then becomes perverted, same for the above).
Hollow Chronicles MC: Don't know how he'll change, but he seems cool for now (might change because his Aspect of Death is 'Death' itself).
Hmm, with all these cool protagonists... well, since they have common motifs, I guess that's how it goes. Anyway, I feel like writing a protagonist with an overflowing 'bluffing' level (like the MC in the Naver Webtoon 'The Ruler of Land') or a tsundere male lead... whack! Anyway, I want to try writing a novel with a protagonist who is full of bluffing and uselessness.
