Chapter 29: Invasion of the USJ (2)

Michikatsu manifested Kyokuseibo and surged toward the horde of villains in a single, fluid motion.

The villains sneered as they saw him charging alone, assuming they could easily overwhelm him with their Quirks. However, one of them caught a good look at Michikatsu’s six eyes and his tall, imposing frame. He turned pale and let out a strangled cry.

"That’s him!! It’s that guy! The one they call Kokushibo—the executioner who kills every villain he finds without mercy!"

Among the criminal underworld, the name 'Kokushibo' was spoken of as a plague, a personified Reaper. He was an operative who didn't negotiate, didn't accept bribes, and never let his target live. Several of the more experienced criminals immediately tried to flee. However, a few low-level thugs, still riding the high of their group’s bravado, dismissed it as a rumor.

"Shut up! You're scared of a circus freak? I’ll blow his head—"

"Moon Breathing, First Form: Dark Moon, Evening Palace."

In a single, blinding draw of his blade, Michikatsu severed the thug’s head. Blood erupted like a geyser from the neck.

"Did you think... I would stay my hand... because the students were watching?"

Releasing a suffocating aura of demonic killing intent, Michikatsu glared at the remaining villains with all six eyes, his breathing perfectly steady.

"Not a single one of you... shall leave this place alive."

The villain made of black mist, who introduced himself as Kurogiri, had used his Warp Gate Quirk to scatter the students across the facility’s various zones. He had ordered the small-fry villains to slaughter the children.

Momo found herself in the Mountain Zone, accompanied by Denki Kaminari, Kyoka Jiro, and Mezo Shoji.

"Whew~ Check out that big sister. She’s a total ten!"

"Let’s kill the guys and keep the two girls. I could use a little fun."

"Think we could take them with us before we finish them? It'd be a waste to kill 'em right away, wouldn't it?"

The villains leered, their eyes filled with a disgusting mix of lust and malice.

"How incredibly... vulgar."

Momo looked at them with a gaze that held no pity. She found it hard to believe how these people had managed to shed every ounce of their humanity. Using her Creation Quirk, she manifested a genuine steel katana.

"I will not kill you. I have no desire to ruin my future for the sake of filth like you... but I shall ensure that you are incapacitated for the rest of your lives."

"Whoa, listen to her! I’m SO scared! Kahahaha!"

"Hey, lady! You've been watching too many movies!"

"You think wearing a UA uniform actually makes you a Hero?"

They mocked her, while behind Momo, the other students felt their hearts sink in fear. Momo’s expression, however, remained as cold as marble.

"Hoooooooooo..."

Momo stilled her heart and synchronized her breathing.

"Moon Breathing, Third Form: Loathsome Moon, Chains."

She swung her blade in two massive, overlapping arcs. Deep gashes instantly appeared across the villains' bodies. They stood frozen for a split second, unable to comprehend the speed, until the searing pain hit them. Their screams filled the rocky terrain.

Momo slammed her free hand into the ground, activating her Blood Demon Art: Alchemy. Massive stone pillars erupted from the earth, slamming into the remaining villains. She then transmuted the nearby rock into pure metal, which her blade "absorbed" to enhance its reach.

"Moon Breathing, Sixth Form: Perpetual Night, Lonely Moon - Incessant."

By incorporating the metal she created into her swings, she could now replicate the crescent-shaped shadow blades that Michikatsu produced naturally. This form allowed her to manifest a flurry of projectiles that shredded everything in sight. Through grueling effort, she had mastered up to the Sixteenth Form by using her Alchemy as a medium.

"Moon Breathing, Seventh Form: Mirror of Misfortune, Moonlit."

She elongated her sword into its greatsword form and unleashed a devastating wide-range strike. Five massive vertical slashes tore through the air, while a hailstorm of smaller, crescent blades carved the very ground apart. The villains caught in the wake of the technique were reduced to bloodied heaps, their screams echoing across the zone.

Though she had adjusted the lethality to ensure they wouldn't die, the agony she inflicted was enough to make them wish they had.

"I shall make you regret the very day you were born."

Looking like a vengeful demon, Momo charged back into the fray to finish the rest.

"Spider Breathing, Second Form: Murderous Eye Basket."

Himiko had fallen into the Flood Zone along with Ochaco, Mina, and Tsu. They had managed to board a boat and take a momentary breath, but the water was teeming with villains who specialized in aquatic combat. They thought they had the upper hand, but they were tragically mistaken.

Himiko wove her Steel Threads into a massive, domed cage that surrounded the entire boat and extended deep into the water. With a sharp tug, she constricted the "web," shredding any villain who came close.

"Hmm... is this all? This isn't even villainy. These are just street thugs, aren't they?"

Himiko giggled, looking completely relaxed as she manipulated her threads as if she were playing a game of cat's cradle.

"Spider Breathing, Fifth Form: Puppet Dancer."

She extended her threads into the water, latching onto the nervous systems and muscle fibers of the drowning villains. She began to force them to attack one another. Seeing her smile brightly while her "puppets" tore each other apart was profoundly unsettling.

"The way you were looking at my precious friends... it was quite disgusting, you know? It made me very, very annoyed... so I want you to hit each other until you die. ♡"

Caught like flies in a spider's web, the villains struggled and screamed underwater as their own bodies turned against them. Their pleas for mercy were muffled by the waves and ignored by Himiko.

Slowly, the water around the boat began to turn a dark, murky red.

"I don't even need my Quirk for this. Just a simple Blood Demon Art and Breathing... so easy. Then again, using a full technique on street thugs like you is a bit of a waste."

Seeing Himiko giggle while puppeteering the massacre, Ochaco, Mina, and Tsu made a silent pact: Never, ever make Himiko angry.

"........Is that all? Where did that confidence from earlier go?"

Shoko Todoroki stood in the Landslide Zone with Sero and Hagakure. She had flash-frozen the entire area, including dozens of villains, in an instant.

"What the hell is this brat?!"

"This is Hero-level power!"

"Shigaraki, you bastard! You said they were just kids!!"

The frozen villains barked in panic. The sheer scale of Shoko’s ice made them doubt she was actually a student. Some struggled to break free, only exposing their own pathetic nature.

"Boring... you aren't villains. You’re just trash from the neighborhood..."

Shoko looked down at them with cold, lifeless eyes. She ignited a small, intense flame in her left hand and turned it toward them as a warning.

Fwoosh!

"From now on, you are going to answer every question I ask... or else..."

She gripped the arm of one villain, using her heat to melt the ice around it before immediately charring the skin. The man screamed, the sudden transition from sub-zero to burning heat causing a physical shock. He tried to struggle, but Shoko used a blast of frost to freeze his mouth shut, muffling his agonizing wail.

"You brat!! Fuck you!! You're supposed to be a Hero trainee! You can't do this!" another villain shouted.

"Shut up..."

Shoko’s face was devoid of emotion. Her voice was flat and pitiless, making the villain’s blood run cold.

"You had no problem making others weep... so you’d better be prepared for the same treatment."

She stood there, flames dancing in her palm and ice creeping from her feet. Her cold rage radiated toward them like a winter storm.

"Be grateful that I’m letting you live... because when I think about 'people like you'... all I want to do is kill you all."
