Chapter 9: Trinity Expedition Log

“Where should we go~ to find~ Mika~?”

He walked along the mountain path in Trinity, singing some strangely familiar Korean song.

“It’d be easier if I just jumped up there, but... then I’d have to go show up in front of everyone and say, ‘Ta-da! Kivotos’s worst criminal has arrived in Trinity!’

“No way that’s happening. For now, I should just follow Mika’s route.”

With that, he formed a telescope in his hand, something mixed with fear and mystery, and looked out toward the tall buildings.

“Still, this really does feel like I’ve become something like a craft chamber... like I’m creating something from nothing...”

Haruta muttered to himself, wondering whether there were any side effects from the fear, when suddenly a pain clenched around his heart and his vision went white.

“Ghk!”

The side effect of fear was, quite literally, the most terrible pain imaginable: the greatest fear engraved into his body would wrap itself around him as agony from that moment.

“Damn it!”

He lost his composure for a moment, then quickly forced himself to calm down and tightened his grip.

His clenched hand only felt the pain being devoured, like fear surging up through his veins in a wash of blood.

“Why the hell is the blood this dark?”

Using his memory of compressing blood into a sphere before, Haruta tried shaping it into a knife.

Boom

“Ugh, disgusting.”

It was his own blood, but the color made it feel filthy no matter what.

“Hmm... can’t I make something a little more precise yet?”

Thinking that, he looked at the blood that had burst apart and gathered some of it into his hand.

“Could this be...?”

The blood in his palm slowly flowed back into Haruta’s body.

“Oh, it works, it works.”

Even as he felt the bizarre sensation of blood being transfused back into his body, he clasped his hands together with a strange sense of pleasure.

“Then what about this?”

He took out his gun, then poured mystery and fear into his palm and fired a lethal bullet.

Bang

“Ghk!”

A hole was blown through his hand, but that wasn’t a problem.

“Hah... ngh... that hurts.”

Haruta stared at the hole in his hand in silence for a moment, then recalled the technique from his past life.

“All right, let’s try it.”

He drew blood again from the hand that was spurting it, shaping it into a tiny sphere.

“Hah... [Sky Blood]!”

In an instant, the blood that burst forth took the form of a spear and shot out with terrifying speed, piercing its target.

“Holy shit, it actually works?”

What was more, the blood flowed back into his body, merging with the flesh that had been blown away and slowly restoring the wound.

“Oh. A reversal technique.”

He remembered the manga he had enjoyed in his previous life, and the technique of his favorite character that he had built in theory.

“If my blood can move however I want, could I use full-auto blood manipulation?”

He had the feeling he’d need more practice to know for sure, and as he thought of yet another technique, he focused back on what he was doing.

“For now, I don’t know where Mika’s house is... but if I go to Trinity Middle School, I should be able to find out.”

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He stopped by a phone shop, bought the most expensive phone they had, activated it, and immediately opened the map.

“Hmm... Trinity Middle School... this is a little over 1 km from here?”

Trinity Middle School turned out to be closer than he expected.

“That place that looks obviously like a school up ahead is Trinity Middle School?”

He was about to go straight in, but after seeing the wings and horns, he hesitated for a moment.

“Ah, right.”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“? How did you break through the deep consciousness?”

“I just lay down to sleep, kept my consciousness awake, and thought about you, and I got in?”

“Hah... I made you myself, but damn, you’re impressive.”

“Enough of that. You said you were a god, right?”

“Yeah, sure. From the memories of your previous life, I’m basically a god, aren’t I? Allah, God, whatever.”

“Then change my appearance for me.”

“Sure, but your face is already handsome enough, though?”

“No, just the wings and horns. Please erase the angel wings and horns for a bit.”

“Can’t you change something that simple yourself?”

“Wouldn’t I have come looking for you if I could?”

“Ha... fine. The wings are one thing, but I made your essence itself demonic, so even I can’t change that. You’ll just have to handle the rest yourself.”

“I came prepared for that much.”

“Yeah, yeah. Someone like you could do that.”

The “god” said that, then clapped once, and then again.

Clap

Clap

In an instant, the wings changed into angel wings and the horns vanished.

“Here, a mirror.”

“Oh, nice?”

“And if you want, you can put the wings and horns back in whenever you like.”

“No thanks.”

“Well, I know you’ve been carrying them around for the looks.”

“You really are a god, huh.”

“Then I can probably guess what you’re thinking right now.”

“What is it?”

“One is doing it with Hina and XXXXXXXXX.”

“Huh? Hey, wait!”

“Ahaha, just kidding, just kidding.”

“Say that one more time and I’ll make sure you never use that mouth again.”

“Wow, that’s harsh.”

“Are you seriously joking right now?”

“What else can I do? Ice-breaking. Ice-breaking.”

“Ha...”

“So, where’s the pizza?”

“Why are you talking about pizza right now? And you call yourself a god—can’t you even make one pizza?”

“It won’t taste good here. The taste is off.”

“Fine... I’ll buy some next time.”

“Yeah, take care of yourself on the way back~”

“Ha... seriously.”

----------------------------------------------------------

“He really is a god, that bastard.”

Haruta came out cursing, and saw that the time had already passed midnight.

“Oh, wait.”

Then, when he turned around, he saw that the angel wings and horns were gone.

“Ha... well, that’s solved somehow.”

Even as he said that, he kicked at the stones on the ground and looked toward the brightly lit large building ahead.

“So is this ridiculously high-performance, permanently maintained telescope mine now?”

He kept taking the telescope in and out of his hand, feeling the fact that it was a permanently created object.

As he looked through the telescope again, scanning the building and the alleyways, Haruta spotted something and soon broke into a grin.

------------------------------------------------------------

“Heh. So you were here?”
