Chapter 27: Founding the League (1)

A week has passed since the end of the Great Holy Grail War... Except for Cu Chulainn, Semiramis, and Jeanne d'Arc, I offered the remaining Servants a choice. Using the stolen authority of the Greater Grail, I could grant them Incarnation—physical bodies to remain in this world. Every single one of them chose to manifest. To prevent any unforeseen defiance, I woven a layer of absolute mental interference into their spiritual foundations during the process, turning them into puppets bound by loyalty to my word. Even as Heroic Spirits, that tiresome sense of 'justice' inherent to their kind would only act as a hurdle when utilizing them as manpower for my organization. I simply cauterized that nuisance at the root.

As for the Masters—save for Sisigou—all were purged. It is tedious to imagine those useless wretches scurrying back to the Clock Tower to prattle on about the war’s details. That priest, Kotomine, was a particular brand of irritation, so I rounded them up and executed them in a single stroke with my Heat Vision.

Watching Kotomine's final moments—the despair on his face as he screamed Semiramis’s name while being cleft in twain by my searing gaze—it was truly pathetic, even now as I recall it.

To cry out for a woman who never once spared him a glance, right until the very end... I could not help but sneer at his bottomless folly.

"So... you're saying the government is starting to stir?"

"Yes, Master. Lately, discrimination and hatred against 'espers' have become more overt. The tension is reaching a boiling point..."

Having returned to New York, I watched the cityscape through the window as Mata Hari attended to me. The bills for regulating superhumans will likely be introduced soon. To keep our Servants from being discovered, they must masquerade as espers. However, the more these so-called espers run wild, the more the public image will deteriorate, leading to harsher regulations and pressures that will eventually tighten around my own neck.

"Tiresome fools... Do they truly think the government will blink an eye at riots and protests?"

"I agree... isn't their approach a bit too radical?"

"They are simply moronic. They claim they are victims of discrimination, yet they commit the hypocrisy of sparking further prejudice through violence and unrest."

I could choose to ignore them, but leaving them to their own devices will only obstruct my future vision.

"Mata Hari."

"Yes, Master♡"

It is time to step onto the political stage. That means shifting the organization from the shadows into the light. While we have legitimate businesses, we are still effectively a Mafia—built upon illicit trades. Yet, if we cease our illegal operations, our lobbying funds will be cut in half. The profit from 'clean' business has its limits.

Thus, I shall separate the 'light' from the 'shadow.'

Closing my book, I reached out to toy with Mata Hari's bountiful, soft chest. Sensing my intent, the quick-witted woman pulled me into her ample embrace, whispering into my ear. I could feel the suppleness of her breasts even through her dress shirt and suit jacket.

"O son of Ours!"

"Little brother!"

I sighed as Semiramis and Janette barged into my office without knocking. Behind them, Emiya stood looking utterly apologetic.

"My apologies, Master. They insisted on seeing you immediately and were quite forceful..."

"Haa... It's fine. Go back to your duties, Emiya."

"Very well..."

Emiya nodded and closed the door. Watching Mata Hari, who was now pouting and clinging even tighter to my chest due to the intrusion, I could only let out another sigh.

"So... why are you both here?"

"How cold, O son of Ours! Your mother's bosom is also available, you know!"

"He's right, little brother! Is your big sister's chest not good enough for you?"

Semiramis and Janette launched an offensive using their physical charms. Sandwiched between their overflowing chests, I was living every man's dream, yet I felt only a dry detachment.

"I'm busy with business right now. If these espers keep causing trouble, the sparks will eventually hit us too..."

"Then why not establish a specialized organization? Like the Clock Tower, perhaps?"

"Hoh... Mama, continue. You have my attention."

Intrigued by Semiramis’s suggestion, I tilted my head. Her plan was to gather the espers into a single organization, uniting them to minimize conflict and secure stability through solidarity. Naturally, I would act as the mediator—the buffer zone.

It sounded like a solid proposition, something quite appetizing. However, to create an agency dedicated to superhuman affairs, I’ll need the approval of the City Council. I’ll have to grease the palms of the Chairman and the Mayor.

"You there!"

"Zod-chan!♡"

The door swung open once more. This time, Artoria and Jeanne entered without knocking. I could practically hear Emiya's soul crumbling from frustration outside.

"I have brought a Big Mac set! Eat."

"And I brought a ginger cookie set for dessert!♡"

Artoria shoved a paper bag with the McDonald's logo toward me, while Jeanne offered a tin of ginger cookies. I accepted Jeanne’s tin but pushed Artoria's bag away. Greasy food always makes me feel slightly nauseous... especially junk food. Though regular meat is fine.

"What is this... will you not eat?"

"I'm not fond of junk food..."

"Then I shall dispose of this myself."

"Did you really buy that for Zod-chan, you cold-blooded woman...?"

I watched Artoria immediately tear open the bag and begin inhaling the Big Mac. With a sigh, I turned to Mata Hari and instructed her to prepare meetings with key political figures in the near future.
