Sitting cross-legged on his bed, Luke withdrew his gaze from the Asauchi's information panel. Inspecting the details of acquired items was one of the basic contract abilities granted by Endspace.
According to the contract, if he cleared the trial world and became an official Explorer, he would also receive an inventory. Carrying things around would become much more convenient then.
Luke had arrived at the Seireitei that evening. Thanks to Unohana's recommendation, he had been accepted as a provisional transfer student at Shin'o Academy.
He was only a provisional transfer student because he was not officially enrolled yet. It was not currently Shin'o Academy's enrollment season, and he had only been permitted to transfer in as a special exception because of Unohana's endorsement—provided that he passed the entrance examination.
He had missed the regular enrollment period, so the academy would arrange a simple individual assessment for him. It was mostly a formality.
Clearly, Unohana did not believe an entrance exam could stump him. Judging from the attitude of the instructor who had processed his dorm assignment, everyone already treated him like a student here.
Luke himself was less certain. He had read some of the Bleach manga, but he had no idea what Shin'o Academy tested applicants on.
If they tested Kido or something else he knew absolutely nothing about, that would be a real problem.
"Room 406..."
Muttering his room number, Luke looked up to confirm it, then knocked on the door.
Shin'o Academy's dorm accommodations were fairly good. Two students shared each room, and according to the dorm instructor, his roommate was supposedly an excellent guy.
He had outstanding grades, treated people kindly, and could answer any questions Luke might have later.
About ten seconds later, the door opened.
The one standing there was a young man with short brown hair and brown eyes.
Behind black-rimmed glasses, his gaze was as gentle as sunlight. A faint smile rested on his face, making him look like a harmless, soft-spoken college kid.
Oh, hell no.
That was Luke's first thought.
His roommate's appearance, demeanor, and the sense of danger picked up by Luke's internal strongman radar all pointed to one possibility.
His roommate appeared to be a dangerous figure from the original story... Sosuke Aizen.
"Can I help you?" the chestnut-haired young man asked.
Luke snapped back to attention. "Hi. I'm Luke, a new student. I've been assigned to this dorm."
"I see."
The young man smiled and introduced himself. "Sosuke Aizen. Welcome to the room."
He led Luke inside, then even enthusiastically helped him make his bed.
After talking with him for a while, Luke was completely certain. This seemingly harmless, gentle young man was the future master of slicked-back hair and smug one-liners—the guy who could make even a straitjacket look impossibly stylish.
Still, talking with the current Aizen was actually quite pleasant. Right now, he was the picture of a gentle, considerate model roommate.
Not only did he help Luke arrange his bed, but he also introduced every facility in the dorm and answered countless questions about Shin'o Academy without showing the slightest impatience.
No wonder the dorm instructor had called Aizen a good kid. Everyone probably liked dealing with him.
"By the way, Aizen, what year are you in?"
Sitting on his freshly made bed, Luke asked the question. Since he was already here, he might as well settle in. No matter how dangerous Aizen would become in the future, he probably would not make any huge moves right now. At the very least, he would not dare cause trouble inside Shin'o Academy.
Besides, Luke felt that the young Aizen's ambitions had not yet become completely insane. At this stage, he was probably more interested in the twisted fun of playing weak and surprising people.
"Just call me Sosuke. I'm not your senior. Like you, I only enrolled this year."
As he spoke, Aizen handed Luke a cup of freshly brewed black tea.
"That explains why we were assigned to the same dorm."
Luke accepted it politely, then discreetly used Endspace's appraisal function to inspect the tea. Once he confirmed it was not some kind of knockout tea, he took a small sip.
Aizen had explained so much about Shin'o Academy that Luke had assumed he was a veteran student. Who would have thought he had only enrolled a few months earlier?
The two chatted for a while longer before lights-out. Yet Luke soon noticed that Aizen was not asleep. Instead, he sat cross-legged on his bed with his Zanpakuto resting across his knees, seemingly trying to sense something.
Luke guessed this was probably how Soul Reapers trained themselves. Aizen was not strong for no reason. His talent was already absurd, and the guy still worked like a maniac.
Perhaps sensing Luke's gaze, Aizen opened his eyes. His smile carried a touch of apology. "If I'm disturbing your rest, I can go out to the balcony."
Luke shook his head with a grin. "It's fine. We might end up training together someday."
With that, he turned over, closed his eyes, and pretended to have fallen asleep.
He had safely reached Shin'o Academy. As long as nothing went wrong with tomorrow's entrance test, the first stage of his mission would be complete.
For now, this place was safe. It was time to sort through everything he had learned.
With a thought, Luke opened Endspace's system menu. He had not had time to explore it during the day, so he needed to take a proper look at its contents.
Beyond his attributes, he found tabs for bloodline, cultivation methods, skills, and proficiencies.
The cultivation-method tab was empty. In Luke's era, the legendary methods with truly extraordinary effects had long since been lost. All he had learned were various combat techniques.
Some special moves had been categorized as skills by Endspace. He had learned a mixed bag of practical and flashy techniques, but there was no need to go into those for now.
His bloodline tab was empty as well. He had never used any of the Company's experimental enhancements. He was a pure human.
The tab that interested him most was the talent tab. Only today had he learned why he had been born with such monstrous strength.

Talent Evaluation: Oh my. You're not going bald someday, are you?
Luke stared at Endspace's evaluation, struggling not to laugh. What did removing a limiter have to do with going bald?
...
The next day.
A clear spring flowed through the courtyard, while emerald bamboo tapped softly against stone.
Sunlight filtered through the paper window and fell across Luke's face as his eyes fixed on the stone platform before him.
Quite a few young students in white training uniforms stood inside the dojo, watching Luke with curiosity.
Yes. He was taking his entrance examination.
Although Aizen had said Shin'o Academy's entrance tests were easy and that Luke would definitely pass, Luke had not expected them to be this casual.
He had assumed they would drag him into some secret little room for a private examination. Apparently, he had overthought it.
According to Instructor Fujimoto, who taught swordsmanship, Luke only needed to complete two tests. Once he passed the first, the Spiritual Might assessment, he would officially become a Shin'o Academy student.
And from Luke's perspective, the passing standard was ridiculously low. He only needed to make the testing device react. In other words, as long as he had talent for Spiritual Pressure training, he could enroll.
It made sense. Ordinary Gotei 13 members in this world only possessed around Level 20 Spiritual Might. That meant most Shin'o Academy graduates only reached Level 20 Spiritual Might.
Naturally, the academy could not demand that applicants already possess Level 20 Spiritual Might—or anything above it—upon enrollment. Otherwise, the Gotei 13 would barely have anyone to recruit.
Under the curious gazes of the other students, including Aizen, Luke stepped forward and placed his hand on the unusual stone platform.
The device had supposedly been developed by Kirio Hikifune, the current captain of the Twelfth Division. It could precisely measure a person's Spiritual Pressure level.
To assess the potential of new students, ten additional marks had been added below the original Level 20 Spiritual Might scale. Reaching the third mark was enough to meet the academy's admission standard.
Luke stared at the display atop the stone platform. He was curious himself—just what level of Spiritual Might did he have?
