Kamado Tanjiro.
He was an ordinary man who sold charcoal in a village.
He lived a happy, peaceful life with his family, and that day too, he had been returning home after working as the eldest son of the household.

Late at night, on the way home, he decided to stay at an old man’s house for the night after hearing the warning.

After that, while heading down to the village to get help for the still-living Nezuko, Nezuko suddenly went berserk and fell off a cliff. Then, while Tanjiro struggled to calm his strangely changed sister, a swordsman tried to kill her.

Tanjiro begged the man. He pleaded with him not to kill Nezuko, saying she was his one and only precious family member, and bowed his head to the ground.

Angered by Tanjiro’s behavior, the swordsman shouted at him.
After that, Tanjiro rushed at the man to protect Nezuko, but he was easily subdued.
But when he came to his senses, his sister had a gag in her mouth and was sleeping soundly beside him.

After checking Nezuko’s condition, he looked at the swordsman from before.
"Go find an old man named Sakonji Urokodaki at the foot of Mount Sagiri. Tell him Giyu Tomioka sent you. The sun is down for now, so you’ll be fine, but keep your sister out of the sunlight."
The swordsman left those words behind and disappeared.
After that, Tanjiro decided to join the Demon Slayer Corps. Under a master named Urokodaki, he learned Water Breathing and survived the Corps selection exam.
Even when his bones broke and he was flung into who-knew-where, he kept getting back up. All for one vow alone: to turn his sister back into a human.

He had come here on a mission to hunt the oni on Mount Natagumo, but the oni here were beyond anything he had imagined. The oni Tanjiro faced was...
