KWAAAANG!!
With a thunderous explosion, dust scattered everywhere.
"Kheh..."
What soon came into view was a monster called an oni, its massive body pinned beneath a man’s foot.
"...No way..."
Tanjiro could only stare in shock at the sight. The man wasn’t even holding a Nichirin blade; he had subdued the oni with nothing but his bare hands.
"Hmm... The demons in this world are all weaklings, aren’t they? This wasn’t even entertaining."
The man then lifted the enormous axe in his hand and brought it down on the oni’s head.
KRAK!
Along with the sound of the oni’s skull splitting, the ground itself cracked apart, and the oni wasn’t simply cut cleanly in two—it was utterly smashed to pieces.
"Oh? Well, well... There was someone here."
The man then looked at Tanjiro and spoke.
"Y-You are...?"
At my question, the man rested the axe on his shoulder and replied,
"I am the Demon Slayer Corps' Sun Pillar, Escanor."
That was how the man introduced himself.
