...God dammit... Fine. If that's how it's going to be, then the concept for this Singularity is 'mental breakdown.'
"Thank you... for everything..."
'Hey! Cu Chulainn, help! Save me! If I get caught now, I'm screwed. I'm going to pretend I've slightly lost my mind, so just help me smooth things over! Great Hero Cu Chulainn! Master! Teacher! Please save me!'
This is driving me crazy... There are too many things to think about.
First, once we get to the mansion, I need to find or make a doll without the Director noticing so I can take it with me. I also need to make something to house the Director's soul separately.
On top of that, I have to prepare for the showdown with Saber and create something to protect the Director from Lev.
That bastard Lev—the real problem is figuring out how to screw him over.
Anyway, Cu Chulainn seemed to think deeply for a moment before patting my head.
"No, kid. Thanks to you, we beat Archer, and we can even prepare before taking on Saber. It's all thanks to you. I'm grateful."
Cu Chulainn looked at me with an expression usually reserved for someone about to die. Wow, seriously. I appreciate the help, but that look is getting on my nerves. I really want to deck him...
I could feel the Director, Guardian, and Okita looking at me with pity. I could tell the Director wasn't even going to try to nag me anymore.
'You bastard, thanks a lot, huh?'
'If you're grateful, buy me a beer later. Hahaha!'
'Hyung, you know I'm a minor, right?'
If I had said this to Okita, she 100% would have let it slip. If I told Guardian, he'd probably just shrug and tell the Director everything. Cu Chulainn is the only one I can talk to like this...
But it still sucks.
"Let's plan while we walk. I think I need to draw aggro again this time."
"Again?"
Guardian looked at me with a fed-up expression.
"That's right, Guardian. You're going to have to work your ass off again. Cu Chulainn? Let's set traps. Set them all over Fuyuki. Then, Guardian, you lure Heracles toward the traps. The way to draw aggro is simple. Just fire explosive rounds like crazy near the mansion. From now on, Cu Chulainn and Guardian will act separately. No matter how much I think about it, I can't imagine a way to beat Heracles head-on. Cu Chulainn's Noble Phantasm could probably kill him two or three times. Okita could probably take one or two lives. But that guy has twelve lives. Even if we kill him five times, what are we going to do about the other seven? And Guardian, from what I've seen, you don't really have an offensive Noble Phantasm, right?"
"Correct. Actually, my Noble Phantasm just strengthens all my attacks."
"Ah... wait a second. Cu Chulainn, can you make it so my voice doesn't leak out?"
"Kid, what are you planning?"
"Nothing, I just want to scream for a bit."
"Here you go."
A small dome formed around me. Inside that dome, I let out a massive shout.
"WAAAAAAAGH!!!!! THE WORLD! IS! SCREWING! MEEEEEE!!!!!!!"
My head felt dizzy after that one scream. I slumped down on the spot. The dome vanished, and the Director checked on me. Guardian and Okita's expressions hardened.
"Did he really lose his mind?" Cu Chulainn muttered to himself.
The Director probably didn't hear because of the soundproofing, but the three Servants definitely did. Whatever, things will work out somehow.
As we kept walking, Guardian and Okita kept glancing at me. The pressure was immense.
"Um... Master, should I carry you on my back?"
Okita, who had been fidgeting, suddenly blurted that out. It felt like as soon as we got back to Chaldea, they'd try to put me through mental recovery rather than physical. I felt my anger rising. Blood rushed to my head, and my vision blurred. I felt a sharp pain in the back of my neck.
"No, I'm fine. Thank you, Okita. But you're the only Servant left to protect us. We can't have you being restricted."
Suddenly, a call came from the Doctor. Director Olga Marie answered.
"It's an emergency!! Damascus's stress levels are insanely high! At this rate, he could die from the stress! This is impossible! Are these levels even possible for a human?"
Wow...
In the midst of this, Cu Chulainn just added fuel to the fire.
This son of a bitch started stomping his feet on purpose and shouted,
"Whoa, what do we do?! Is the kid really going to die?!"
'Thanks a lot, you bastard,' I said to Cu Chulainn via telepathy.
'Oh, I'll always do whatever you want, so just let me know if you need anything!'
I filled my telepathic message with pure rage, but a civilian's anger meant nothing to the Great Hero Cu Chulainn.
I actually got so pissed that I fainted.
"Wh-Whoa?!" Cu Chulainn yelled.
I opened my eyes heavily. Everyone was looking at me, and even Cu Chulainn was looking at me with genuine concern now.
I had to get a small revenge on that bastard. Gathering my hazy consciousness, I raised my right hand and spoke.
"By my Command Spell, I order you. Kill yourself, Lancer."
""""?""""
The three of them had expressions that said, 'What? We don't have a Lancer?' But Cu Chulainn was different. You bastard, as long as I have Command Spells, you're nothing to me~
Of course, since his current class was Caster, the command didn't take, and the Command Spell wasn't consumed. I needed to save these for the fight against Saber later.
"Ugh... Ah... my head... What... haven't we started the operation yet?"
"How are we supposed to start when you collapsed!"
"Director, I'm not what's important. I'm not going to die. So don't worry about me and carry out the mission. Okita, if I collapse, hide me somewhere and run away with the Director or protect her. Guardian, you draw aggro like I said. Cu Chulainn, set as many traps in the city as possible and let Guardian know via telepathy. After that, return to the mansion and grab anything else we might need for the next battle."
"Got it, kid."
He knew exactly what I meant. In truth, Cu Chulainn would be preparing a body for the Director to be sent back to Chaldea.
As for the equipment we'd use against King Arthur, the Director and I would have to make it ourselves...
Lev... I'll have Guardian put a bullet hole in that professor's head later.
"Starting the operation. First, Cu Chulainn, set about five traps at 5km intervals. Make sure they won't hinder Guardian's escape. If we're lucky, Heracles might just step on a trap and die."
"He's not the type to go down that easily... but fine. I'll give it a shot."
We started two hours later.
As soon as all the traps were set, we hid about 12km away, and Guardian immediately fired eight explosive rounds toward the mansion.
A monster burst out of the mansion. The monster's roar was so powerful it gave us goosebumps even 12km away.
"Should we change the plan? Leave that monster to Guardian and just go kill Saber?"
Just hearing the sound made me want to wet myself.
"You're the one who said Saber is stronger, Damascus. Don't try to run away already."
"If necessary, I'll go kill it and come back," Okita offered.
"No. You must protect us no matter what. Even if we defeat all the enemies, if even one of us two dies, it's our defeat. So absolutely not. We couldn't even execute a plan like this without you."
According to my memory, Assassin was still out there.
If we got caught by that stealthy killer, we'd probably be dead.
The Director and I entered a room.
'Guardian, turn right at the 1km mark from now. There's a trap there.'
'Got it, comrade.'
Hearing Cu Chulainn's words, he immediately veered right.
About three seconds after Guardian passed, Heracles followed him in the same direction.
With a massive explosion, Heracles was swallowed by flames.
We had been running away like this for over three hours. We had already shaved off three of Heracles's lives. However, since Heracles resurrected in perfect condition every time he died, there was nothing Guardian and Cu Chulainn could do except run and lure him into traps.
"If only I were a Lancer, I might have stood a chance..."
Cu Chulainn lamented not being in his Lancer class. If he were a real Lancer, he would have caught him long ago.
Heracles went berserk and pursued Guardian.
The mansion Guardian had destroyed was the home of the child Heracles had failed to protect—his Master, the one he would have protected even at the cost of his own life. He could never forgive the one who destroyed that mansion. From Heracles's perspective, that little rat who defiled the house was a pest that had to be killed.
But regardless of that, the absurdly fast Guardian dodged all of Heracles's attacks and tormented him. He'd target only the eyes with explosive rounds, or slide between Heracles's legs. He'd stick bombs on the monster's back, climb walls, leap to dodge attacks, and break or evade everything Heracles threw at him, mocking him with traps. Guardian couldn't kill Heracles, but as long as he didn't make a mistake, he wouldn't die either. Realizing this, Guardian continued to harass Heracles relentlessly.
"Eyes! Legs! The ground! How do you like that, you son of a bitch!"
He kept tormenting Heracles while spitting out incredibly vulgar insults. Even a Servant without Madness Enhancement would lose their mind dealing with a guy like that.
"Phew... I'm glad I'm not that guy's enemy."
Cu Chulainn said, shaking his head.
Okita kept a constant watch around the Director and me, guarding the perimeter.
Assassin. We still didn't know where he was. If we were unlucky, the Director and I could die in the blink of an eye. Who was the Assassin? Was it still Hassan?
Sasaki Kojiro? Who was it? No matter how much I racked my brain, the only one among the other classes who could be an Assassin was Cu Chulainn. It wasn't that he lacked the ability; it just didn't fit his personality. Cu Chulainn was capable of killing quietly. Otherwise, there had to be someone else, but I wasn't sure.
"Master, there seem to be no enemies nearby."
"Stay alert. Our lives are hanging by a thread. Assassin, Caster, and Lancer are still out there. We don't know what will happen."
"Understood."
Actually, there was one thing I didn't say: if Saber makes a move, we're done for.
"Director, did you find anything good?"
"There aren't many jewels here, and there's nothing else. All that's here are homunculus parts."
If we have those, we've already secured the main objective.
Wait, that cloth seems to have a bit of mana in it. What is it?
"Director, doesn't this have some kind of magical energy in it?"
"You're right. I don't know what we can do with this immediately, but if we use it well, we might get something better than expected. Well done, Damascus."
"It was nothing, Director."
This was a pretty good result. But I wasn't satisfied. Even so, it was time to leave. A telepathic message came from Cu Chulainn.
'I've set enough traps. Now I'll head to the mansion to start assembling the homunculus body.'
'Got it. I'll lead the Director out.'
I spoke to the Director.
"Director, let's head out. If we delay any longer, we might get caught by Heracles and die for nothing. The scariest thing about Heracles is that when he resurrects, he gains resistance to the attack that killed him. No matter how much Okita, Guardian, and Cu Chulainn kill him, if he develops resistance and we can't deal damage, we're 100% dead. So we have to leave now that we've secured at least one thing."
"Alright, Damascus. Let's do that."
"We'll make a Mystic Code with that red cloth. We'll tie it to our hands and add a function to absorb surrounding mana, along with Gandr, emergency evasion, and healing. That way, we can use it alongside the Chaldea Mystic Code during the battle with Saber to minimize mana consumption. First, we'll set up a base camp nearby. Once we confirm if we can make it through Chaldea and finish it, we'll go deal with Saber immediately."
My plan was simple. After Okita and Cu Chulainn engaged in a direct fight, Okita would use her Noble Phantasm to strike Saber from behind. Then, using an Order Change to swap with Guardian, Guardian would stab Saber from behind with Excalibur.
According to Guardian, it was a sword with unbelievable cutting power that would never break. We'd land the finishing blow like that. After that, I'd have Okita spiritize and return here.
"Wait, hold on."
"Damascus, what's wrong?"
"Should we try using Heracles too?"
"What do you mean by that?"
"No, never mind. Please forget it. It was just a wild thought."
Handing Heracles over to Lev. You bastard, that's how I'm going to deal with you.
