Chapter 18: Avengers

The door to the secure lavatory on the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier slid open, and Níðhöggr stepped out, adjusting his clothes with a relaxed air.

Following closely behind was Deputy Director Maria Hill, her hair disheveled and her cheeks flushed a deep crimson. She staggered slightly as she walked.

Her eyes were clouded with the lingering euphoria of the 'intense tactical debriefing in a restricted zone' they had just concluded.

"Wow, Natasha. You were right. The Deputy Director's hips... they’re a literal treasure," Níðhöggr remarked with a sleazy grin, casually wrapping an arm around the waist of the waiting Natasha Romanoff.

Natasha gave Maria Hill a fleeting, jealous glance before leaning her head against Níðhöggr's chest and whispering, "Didn't I tell you? But it’s time to work, Nid. While Fury is out cold, there’s a 'big green monster' we need to handle."

Flanked by the two finest beauties S.H.I.E.L.D. had to offer, Níðhöggr marched down the corridor with imperial confidence.

Watching this spectacle from a distance, Tony Stark and Ratatoskr stared off into space, clicking their tongues in unison.

"Hey, Tin Man. I think that guy is planning to turn S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters into his personal harem."

"Don't even start, Rata. He did the same thing in my living room, and now he’s seduced the Deputy Director. Is he a dragon or just a professional incubus?"

Outskirts of Calcutta, India.

The mission to recruit Dr. Bruce Banner—ordered by Nick Fury just before his unfortunate 'nap'—had taken a completely different trajectory under Níðhöggr's leadership.

Níðhöggr arrived at the dilapidated shack where Banner was hiding, accompanied by Natasha and Maria Hill.

"Hello? Is there a four-eyed old man in there? Come on out; we're going for a drive."

Startled by Níðhöggr's disrespectful summons, Bruce Banner emerged from the shadows. He backed away, trembling with genuine fear.

"Please... just go. You can't get me angry. If the 'other guy' comes out, this place will become a literal hell."

"Hell? That’s my favorite vacation spot. I’m curious—let’s see just how impressive this 'other guy' actually is."

As Níðhöggr stepped forward provocatively, Banner’s patience finally snapped. His eyes flickered with a gamma-radiated green glow, and his physique began to swell grotesquely.

"RROOOAAARRRR!!"

The massive green behemoth known as the Hulk roared into existence, shredding his clothes as he grew. Without hesitation, the Hulk brought a gargantuan fist down toward Níðhöggr.

CRASH—!!

The ground buckled, and a thick cloud of dust billowed into the air. When the haze cleared, Maria Hill gasped, suppressing a scream.

Níðhöggr was holding up the Hulk’s massive fist with a single, casual hand.

"Hoh... to think there was someone this strong in Midgard?" Níðhöggr murmured, genuinely impressed. It was his first time seeing a force on Earth capable of actually putting pressure on his humanoid form.

The Hulk, fueled by mounting rage, swung his other fist, but Níðhöggr stepped back lightly, wearing a seductive, mocking smirk.

"But listen here, Greenie. My women are watching right behind me. I can’t exactly look pathetic in front of Natasha and Maria, now can I?"

Níðhöggr's eyes flared with a lethal golden light. He blurred forward, slipping inside the Hulk's reach and positioning himself right under the beast's jaw.

"Go to sleep, big guy."

Níðhöggr’s fist drove deep into the Hulk’s solar plexus. It wasn't just raw physical power; it was a strike infused with the corrosive mana of a dragon. The Hulk’s eyes rolled back into his head as he was lifted off the ground and then slammed into the earth. His massive frame gradually shrunk, returning to the fragile form of Bruce Banner.

Once Banner regained consciousness, he apologized profusely for the ruckus and followed them meekly back to the Helicarrier. Níðhöggr clapped the terrified doctor on the shoulder.

"Don't worry about it, old man. Let’s go another round sometime. That was actually fun."

S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier HQ.

Nick Fury, now awake with a bandage on his chin, glared at Níðhöggr with murderous intent. However, he went silent the moment Ratatoskr casually brandished a fist in his direction. Tony Stark, Captain America, Bruce Banner, and Níðhöggr’s entourage were finally all in one place.

"Loki has appeared in Stuttgart, Germany," Maria Hill reported.

Níðhöggr rose from his seat. "The prince with the reindeer horns? Thor’s little brother, right? I should go see if he’s as much of a pushover as his sibling."

Accompanied by the Captain, Tony, and Ratatoskr, Níðhöggr boarded the Quinjet and headed for Germany.

Stuttgart Plaza.

Loki was forcing the citizens to kneel, delivering one of his characteristically arrogant monologues. "You believe you want freedom, but in reality, you crave subjugation. To kneel beneath the feet of a god such as I..."

"Hey, Antlers!"

A thunderous shout rained down from the sky. As the crowd looked up, they saw Níðhöggr descending at terminal velocity, cloaked in a crimson aura. Loki raised his spear—the Chitauri Scepter—to retaliate, but Níðhöggr’s speed transcended even the heightened senses of an Asgardian.

THWACK—!!

Níðhöggr’s flying kick connected squarely with Loki’s face.

"Gah!"

The so-called Prince of Asgard didn't even have time to scream. He tumbled across the pavement like a ragdoll before crashing into a stone pillar. While Loki struggled to clear the blood from his nose and regain his bearings, Níðhöggr was already standing over him, picking up the fallen scepter.

"Is this that famous royal palace decoration? Wait, this thing..."

Níðhöggr’s eyes narrowed. The energy radiating from the glowing blue gem at the tip of the scepter was no mere magical artifact. It was a power that touched the very foundations of the universe—an abyssal force deeper than the roots of Yggdrasil.

"This... this is the Mind Stone, isn't it?"

Loki gasped, his eyes wide with shock. "Ho-how do you know of that? That was bestowed upon me by a great being—"

"Shut up, you horned loser."

Níðhöggr delivered a casual kick to the back of Loki's head, knocking him unconscious again. He stared intently at the gem. "To entrust something this precious to an idiot like this... I guess the universe is full of rich villains with more money than brains?"

Captain America, Tony, and Ratatoskr arrived a moment later, only to find the situation already resolved in under ten seconds. They could only marvel at Níðhöggr’s terrifying efficiency.

"Nid... take it easy. We need him alive to extract information," the Captain sighed.

"Information? If I ask, he’ll talk. Don't worry about it, Wallet."

Níðhöggr slung the scepter over his shoulder and smirked at Natasha and Maria Hill as they approached. "Alright, let's take this reindeer back. Then, we celebrate!"

The dawn of the Avengers, intended as Loki's grand invasion, was rapidly turning into an era of personal suffering for the God of Mischief, all because of a single draconic variable.
