Chapter 41: 41.

The Chamber of the Big Dipper.

Corpses were everywhere, piled so high they were even being used as firewood for bonfires. There were so many bodies that it was impossible to walk normally.

At this point, the floor was practically made of corpses.

"Stay behind me."

Sensing the ominous atmosphere, I stepped in front of the group. Since Kim Dokja no longer needed to advertise himself as a King, it was better for me to take the lead. It made it easier to defend against attacks, and if enemies mistook me for the King, even better.

"Excuse me, there are people over there."

Yoo Sangah pointed to a bonfire made of corpses. People were gathered around it, and they weren't fighting, as if observing a truce.

"Newbies, huh? Who is your King?"

"As if I'd tell you."

While the man spoke to us, an encirclement began to form covertly around our group.

"Is it you? Or the man behind you? Or the woman?"

[A significant number of Constellations are annoyed by the trivial interference.]
[Several Constellations wish for you to take serious action.]

"I intend to, even without you rushing me."

"Hah?"

I kicked the man in front of me immediately. He flew backward and slammed into the waiting room wall. The attack was so instant that he seemed dead even before hitting the wall.

The man's companion next to him was stunned by the sudden turn of events but quickly regained his senses and shouted.

"Damn it! Just kill them!"

As if waiting for the signal, the others drew their weapons. But it was already too late.

"Cursed Technique Reversal: Red."

A massive amount of repulsive force shot from my hand. The guys holding weapons, unprepared for a technique they'd never seen before, stood blankly for a moment before being blasted toward the walls in unison.

Not missing the opportunity, Kim Dokja dug into the gaps of the panicked group, severing their limbs, while Gilyoung finished off those who hadn't died.

"I'll do it. Gilyoung-ah."

"...I can do it though?"

"Still, let me."

A stubborn tone unlike Yoo Sangah. Gilyoung looked at Dokja with a disgruntled face but nodded and stepped back.

Thwack! Thwack!

The sound of stabbing followed. Yoo Sangah ended the remaining lives with movements far more efficient than Gilyoung's. After finishing the job, Yoo Sangah trembled deeply but suppressed it and looked at Kim Dokja.

"It's going to be like this from now on, isn't it?"

"Yes. It will be."

"I'll take over Gilyoung's role from now on."

"Can you handle it?"

"...No problem. It was just like breaking eggs."

"You were shaking quite a bit for someone saying that."

I looked around, confirmed that all the guys emitting killing intent were dead, and approached the group.

"No need to overdo it. It's okay to adapt slowly."

Such things will happen countless times in the future. Even if you don't want to, as long as you're human, you'll gradually adapt, so there's no need to rush.

"Still, you'll have to overcome it."

So I calmly offered words of encouragement. Thinking this was the best I could do.

We immediately collected items from the dead guys, including parts of the Dongui Bogam. But unfortunately, there were no flags. It meant there was no King among the group we killed.

Clap, clap, clap.

Just as we finished collecting all the items, applause reached our ears. One of the men who had been watching us from across the large bonfire approached with a smile all over his face. To see people dying right in front of him and not be flustered at all...

"Hm?"

I immediately pointed my finger at the approaching man. But as if knowing what this meant, the man immediately backed away and raised both arms to show he had no intention of fighting.

"Whoa, whoa. Calm down. I'm not here to fight."

I chuckled looking at the man. I wondered who it was, but it was a guy I'd seen before. Of course, the face was different.

Simultaneously lowering my hand to express that I wouldn't attack, the man continued speaking.

"Amazing skills. To wipe out the Chungjeongno group in an instant... they were quite capable among those who lost their King."

I glanced at the group I wiped out. Guys who lost their King, huh. No wonder they had no flags.

"But you're a bit late. The major 'Kings' have already entered the dungeon. They must be fighting right now. Well, the winner is almost decided, though..."

"The Tyrant King?"

"Correct. That King made this place look like this and passed through."

The man continued.

"Currently the most powerful King in northern Seoul. Stories are already circulating among those who know. That the owner of the 'Absolute Throne' will definitely be the Tyrant King."

Well, seeing the mess he made here, it's impossible not to think that.

"But in terms of martial power... seeing something amazing just now makes me feel like one can never know. Apart from that, the Tyrant King is strong, but he can never become the 'Owner of the Throne'."

"Why do you think so?"

"Because I saw him. He is strong but cannot handle people. He doesn't know how to understand the hearts of the people."

The hearts of the people. Indeed, understanding the hearts of the people is a virtue a King must possess. If not, the King will eventually fall. Why do you think historical rebellions happened?

"The King I serve is someone who can do that. That's why many Incarnations follow him. I am certain my King will become the owner of the 'Absolute Throne'."

We looked in the direction the man glanced. The 'Chamber of the Big Dipper' consists of a total of seven entrances. Probably this man's King also chose one of those passages and moved.

"So, what's the point?"

"I want to make a proposal. Would you like to join hands?"

"Hands?"

"Yes. The Tyrant King is strong. Honestly speaking, I don't think we can win against the Tyrant King with just our martial power."

"Strong loyalty, yet realistic. The King who has you as a subordinate must be quite blessed."

"Haha, thank you."

Well, yeah. If that's the truth, he is blessed.

"Think about it. What would happen if an unstoppable ruffian is given a legendary treasure sword?"

What would happen. He'd either die by Yoo Joonghyuk or by me.

I almost said that but listened to the man.

"What would happen if that guy ascends to the 'Absolute Throne' that controls all Kings in Seoul? No matter what, we must prevent such a thing."

"Makes sense."

"So I'm proposing. Our group plans to strike the Tyrant King soon, and we've already finished talks with several other Kings. I don't know which group you belong to, but honestly, joining now won't be a loss for you."

That is true. But... I wonder if we really need to.

I glanced at Kim Dokja to gauge his reaction, and Kim Dokja also looked at me as if thinking similarly, suggesting we watch the situation.

"If you're really hesitant, you can meet our King and think about it. It's about time he returned to the waiting room... Ah, he's coming just now."

Indeed, one of the seven doors opened, and the group that entered the 'Chamber of the Big Dipper' was returning.

"My King..."

"Oh."

The people loitering at the entrance with the man all knelt at once. And from the center of the group, a man was approaching us.

Clean bald head. Eyepatch on one eye. Even a Buddhist staff in hand... This is.

"Wow."

Did he shave his head following his Constellation? While I was admiring inwardly, the man talking to us knelt.

"My King. You have come."

"Yes."

"How did it go?"

"Need I say more? Here."

The one-eyed eyepatch pointed to his staff. A blue gem fragment, seemingly obtainable from the Chamber of the Big Dipper, was embedded there.

"But who are these people?"

"They just entered. Their skills were quite good, so I was considering accepting them into our side."

"Is that so?"

One-eye immediately extended his hand to me, who was standing in front.

"I am Cha Sang-kyung."

I shook his hand and said.

"Name's Choi Gang-hoon."

If Jung Heewon were here, it would have been a pretty funny scene, shame. No, I must tell her later when we meet. That I saw the real Gung Ye.

"I know how to read faces (physiognomy), may I take a look?"

"Suit yourself?"

Yeah. Being Gung Ye, he has to use the Mind Reader Method (Gwan-sim-beop) once. But is it okay to use it on me?

"Th-this is!"

"My King, what is wrong?"

Seems my guess was right. Maybe I was a demon (Ma-gu-ni) that screws you over if touched. Actually, I am prepared to bite if anyone touches me.

"De-Demon!"

Cha Sang-kyung, whose face turned severely pale, shouted looking at me. Demon. Never imagined hearing that in real life.

"Ye-yes? Surely not."

Thanks to that, Cha Sang-kyung's group members, including the man I was talking to, looked at me simultaneously.

Just as a tense atmosphere was about to arise, Cha Sang-kyung hurriedly added.

"Ah, no. I think I saw wrong."

"Yes? Is that so?"

"Right, it's nothing. Everyone stand back."

Cha Sang-kyung calmed the people down immediately, perhaps warned by his Sponsor.

"Phew... weren't you surprised."

"You looked disappointed for someone surprised?"

"Yes? Ah, no. How could I be when more allies are advantageous."

The guy assumed I was joking. He seems to think he hid his momentary disappointment well.

"I'll be watching?"

"...Don't tell me."

The man who had been talking to me looked surprised, but I avoided his gaze and turned my head.

By the way, why does she keep becoming a man when hiding her identity.
