Charlotte Linlin is one of the Four Emperors known as Big Mom, and the only woman among them.
She built her pirate crew out of children born from the many husbands she used as breeding stock, and she never treated any of those men as equal partners in marriage.
There was probably only one man in this world she could ever acknowledge as an equal spouse.
The man Charlotte Linlin had longed for ever since she first took the title of Emperor of the Sea was now on his way to Whole Cake Island.
Linlin was so overjoyed that she forgot the dignity expected of Totto Land’s ruler, and she staked the fate of the nation on this tea party to welcome the man who would become not another "stud," but her true "husband."
Linlin’s dream was still alive.
Unlike in the original story, her dreams and convictions had not been twisted out of shape.
In this other world, Linlin had only one wish.
To marry the Mage King Solomon.
When she had been wandering in grief after losing Mother Carmel, the first warm hand ever extended to her had erased Streusen’s presence from her heart.
The young Linlin had admired Solomon, relied on him, and before long, it was only natural that those feelings would turn into something more.
But Solomon refused to have any deeper relationship with Linlin than that.
Even if her dream had changed, that didn’t mean the original version’s rotten temperament had gone anywhere, so after her first love rejected her, Linlin became badly warped.
After parting from Solomon when he returned to Mary Geoise, Linlin’s twisted rebellion continued, and before long she had become an executive of the Rocks Pirates, one of the hottest money-making crews of the era.
Unable to endure the emptiness Solomon left behind, Linlin met other men and took their seed in order to provoke his jealousy.
"You’re the reason I turned into this. Because you wouldn’t accept me."
"Hmph."
"Come back whenever you want."
"I’ll invite you to every tea party I ever hold."
"I only need you."
"Other men are nothing but trophies, and the children are only tools."
"You can hurt me as much as you like, and I still won’t resent you."
"But when the final marriage registration is written, my name will be on it. No matter what."
"I became one of the Four Emperors. I’ve become a giant worthy of standing beside your status."
"I have everything now."
"Solomon."
"My dear. No... husband."
"Don’t keep tormenting me anymore."
"Because if I really can’t have you, I might just want to kill any other woman before she can lay a hand on you."
Mamamama! Mamahahaha!
Watching his mother hum to herself and swing both legs like a little girl on a swing while seated on a throne piled high with perfectly baked sweets, Charlotte Katakuri, the second son of the Charlotte family, quietly checked the time.
Right on schedule.
Just as the meticulous Katakuri had calculated, a report came through the Homies that eldest brother Perospero’s Tarteship had entered Totto Land’s waters with the "distinguished guest" aboard.
"Katakuriii~ what time is it nowww?"
"It’s noon, Mama. It seems Perospero succeeded."
"I felt it too. It really is my dear brother’s presence, after all this time. The thing I only ever imagined is finally becoming real. How could I not be happy?"
"But... there’s no guarantee he’ll accept your proposal..."
"Shut your mouth, Katakuriiii!"
In an instant, overwhelming Conqueror’s Haki crashed down on Katakuri. This was the majesty of one of the Four Emperors, so absolute that resisting it did not even feel possible.
"For decades, my dear brother ignored every tea party invitation I sent. But now he’s finally accepted one. My love is finally bearing fruit. So don’t ruin the mood, Katakuri. I let things slide because you’re the only child of mine with Conqueror’s Haki, and now you’re getting arrogant."
Of course. If she could only be joined to Solomon and bear his child, then the value of the Charlotte family’s so-called finest masterpiece would become meaningless.
If she received his love, conceived his child, and gave birth, that child would surely be born with the greatest bloodline in this world, one no other family could match.
Big Mom’s dangerous love swelled larger with every passing moment.
"I can’t wait any longer."
"Mama?!"
"I’m going to meet Solomon myself. Lead the way, Katakuri. The true grand duke of the Charlotte family is arriving. Make sure you leave a good impression on your new father... Mamamama..."
Zeus, Big Mom’s special Homie, answered her call.
Big Mom climbed onto Zeus, and she and Katakuri shot through the sky.
"Kyaaaa!"
"Brotheeeer!!!"
Just as Solomon stepped down from the Tarteship and was taking in the cute, fairy-tale scenery of Totto Land, the kingdom Big Mom had built over a lifetime, Big Mom came dropping out of the sky.
"Solomon!!! My dear! You finally came!!!!"
A giant beautiful girl over eight meters tall descended slowly, floating down as lightly as a feather.
Before the flustered Solomon could even greet her properly, his compact body by One Piece standards was snatched up in Big Mom’s hand and lifted several meters into the air.
The sweet scent of candy and cake drifted from the arms of the girl trembling with emotion.
"Linlin! Linlin! I’m dying! Gah! My back!"
"Kyahahaha! Mamamama! Solomon, you haven’t changed at all! I’m so happy! Today is truly a wonderful day! Should we just head straight to the wedding hall like this?"
With his waist trapped in Linlin’s grip, Solomon dangled in the air and was shaken around like a Barbie doll. A wave of violent motion sickness hit him, and he cried out in dizziness, but the maiden standing one step away from fulfilled love did not hear a word of it.
Perospero and Katakuri both rushed in and barely managed to calm the excited Big Mom down.
Even so, Big Mom still refused to let Solomon go.
"Solomon! Linlin has been waiting all this time! I’ve always kept a place open for you by my side! First, let’s enjoy the tea party!!!"
"I only came to deliver the government’s position! I told you before in Elbaf to find a better man than me! I don’t like you! The greatest woman pirate in the world turning out to be a lunatic yandere is terrifying! That’s why I said no!"
"Hmm... dear brother. Want me to teach you something fun?"
"What...?"
"I could swallow someone your size in one bite~ so shouldn’t you be a little nicer to Linlin~?"
Reduced to a single helpless chicken, Solomon felt his knees go weak at Big Mom’s adorable coquetry. Even after all these years, she still wanted to remain the cute little sister in his eyes.
I knew this might happen, which is exactly why I kept avoiding meeting Linlin all this time, but I came anyway!!!!
Sadly, Solomon’s scream from the heart did not reach Linlin’s love-drowned, half-broken reason in the slightest.
The royal palace of Whole Cake Island.
Normally, Big Mom’s tea parties were held to flaunt her power and connections, but this one had been arranged for the sake of satisfying one person alone.
A full ten percent of Totto Land’s national budget had gone into this tea party, and the entire schedule had been planned like a date course.
And naturally, at the end of it waited a wedding venue and the paperwork for marriage registration.
Charlotte Smoothie, one of the Sweet Commanders responsible for the drinks at the tea party, sensed that something was strange.
Usually, Mother Carmel’s photograph was always placed before Big Mom, but this time it was nowhere to be seen.
The members of the Charlotte family, who knew Big Mom’s bizarre obsession with the old woman’s photograph, became curious about the identity of this man named Solomon, whom Big Mom liked so much that she had even forgotten to set out Mother Carmel’s picture.
"Now then! Charlotte Family! Gather around, all of you! Everyone’s here, right?"
In Totto Land, Big Mom’s orders were the law of the land.
The Charlotte Family, who were also the officers of the Big Mom Pirates, assembled without leaving out a single person and stood in formation beneath Big Mom’s throne under Perospero’s direction.
"Listen well... Mamamama! There have been many studs before you, but forget every last one of those useless things starting today! This man here is Linlin’s dear brother, the one who will become the grand duke of the Charlotte family and father to all of you before the day is over!"
At Linlin’s cheerful introduction, full of girlish sweetness, not one of her children failed to read the room.
"Papa! Let’s play stabby-stab with knives!"
"Sob... Mama... congratulations from the bottom of my heart on finally fulfilling the unrequited love you’ve sung about your whole life!"
"No... that old hag with a pretty face has completely lost her mind..."
Of course, there was one loyal retainer bold enough to speak honestly, but a suspicious bolt of lightning fell at the perfect moment, "corrected" him, and sent him off to the rear.
Solomon became certain that if this kept up, he would be completely roped in by Linlin and forced into the utterly unwanted role of kept man.
Linlin was still beautiful even at her age, but she was not his type, so he had to reject her clearly instead of playing push-and-pull games.
"Linlin! I’m sorry! I still can’t accept your love!!!"
"Mm. I know. Linlin knows."
Despite Solomon’s firm refusal, Big Mom remained calm, as if she had expected it all along.
"You went to Amazon Lily recently, didn’t you? Then you must have met the Pirate Empress there... and that snake bitch must have tried to seduce you. And innocent as you are, you probably just stood there grinning... Linlin knows it all without even seeing it. Naturally. Because the pirate with the greatest information network on these seas is me, Charlotte Linlin."
Linlin’s confidence had a basis. After all, the origin of the information network she used to dominate the New World had been her desire to track Solomon’s every move.
"I’ll tear her to pieces. That filthy whore who dared wag her dirty ass at Linlin’s dear brother... Linlin’s going to gobble her right up..."
Charlotte Linlin’s obsession had been concentrated over many long years, making it a little heavy.
No, much more than a little.
