Chapter 13: Chapter 11 - The First Singularity: The Hundred-Year War of the Evil Dragons, Orleans

---------------------

Nobu immediately summoned a matchlock gun, then pointed the muzzle straight at Saber Shiki and said,

Clack!

"Ready! Fire~!!"

Bang, bang, bang, bang!

But Saber Shiki immediately drew the Japanese sword in her hand and sliced the bullets apart before cutting down Nobu. Nobu, however, calmly slipped away and began assessing her swordsmanship.

"Oh... You’re no ordinary one..."

"You seem pretty relaxed?"

Nobu immediately deployed more matchlock guns and fired a volley at Saber Shiki, but Shiki once again deflected the bullets and rushed right up to Nobu, trying to cut her down. Nobu, however, leaped back at once, evaded Shiki’s strike, then grabbed the summoned matchlocks with her arms and legs and began attacking while spinning through the air.

"Here I go! Guda Guda Sword Art, Sixth Heaven Demon Barrage!!"

Bang, bang, bang, bang!

"What the...!?"

Ting!

Shiki deflected the incoming bullets and retreated, staring at Nobu with a stunned expression, as if she couldn’t believe such a ridiculous attack existed.

"My, what an interesting shooting style. Lady Wind Cloud of Owari."

Hearing that, Nobu burst out laughing like a great hero and said,

"Hahaha!! If I just shot normally, it wouldn’t be any fun, would it?"

Then Nobu’s laughter vanished, and she glared at Shiki with murderous eyes.

"But you... did you just call me Lady Wind Cloud of Owari...?"

"Hehe... If I offended you, I apologize. It was merely a joke..."

After saying that, Shiki adjusted her grip on her sword and charged at Nobu again. Nobu summoned even more matchlock guns than before and began firing at her. Shiki knocked the bullets aside and closed the distance, and the flustered Nobu immediately drew Heshikiri from her scabbard and deflected Saber Shiki’s attack.

Ting!

"Ggh...!"

"Found your opening, I see?"

"Damn it...!"

Shiki smoothly redirected her blade, then sliced through Nobu’s upper clothing. Nobu immediately leaped back, clutching the wound as she said,

"Not bad at all!!"

Feeling a slight sense of danger, Nobu’s body began to blaze with fire, and she smiled as she looked at Shiki.

Whoosh!

"Cough... I may have underestimated you a little..."

"Oh my..."

"Heh... If I’m going to beat you, I’ll have to go all out... Well... I didn’t really want to do this, but... I have no choice!!"

Demongod Nobunaga was preparing to use her Noble Phantasm to see this fight through to the end, and Shiki, sensing it, drew her sword as well and took her stance before speaking.

"Are you coming...? The sky is brightening... Everything is a dream-----------"

"Past - present - future... All of me gathers here, and opens!!"

A huge skull-shaped apparition formed behind Demongod Nobunaga, and flames burst out from it, engulfing Shiki. But Shiki did not stop; she charged straight at Demongod Nobunaga with her blade.

"[Pa Shun Bensei - Sanzen Daisen Tenmaou]!!"

"This is the flower that remained, without falling..."

The two Noble Phantasms struck at each other at the same time, and an enormous explosion erupted, dragging both of them into its blast.

When the dust finally settled, the winner was about to be decided.

"Cough..."

Thud...!

The Servant who had just fallen was Saber Shiki. Yes, she had lost to Demongod Nobunaga. Of course, Nobu was also coughing up blood, and her clothes had burned away so badly that parts of her skin were visible. Nobu seemed to realize she had won, and after putting her sword away, she supported her upper body with it and said,

"Hah... I won...! The world is at peace, it’s over...!! No, wait, it’s not over yet? Well then, the next fight—"

Just then, a summoning circle appeared where Saber Shiki had been, and Assassin Shiki burst out of it, immediately preparing her Noble Phantasm.

"Mystic Eyes of Death Perception-----"

"What!? Summoned at the same time as disappearing!?"

Seizing the opening, Shiki rushed at Nobu at once and used her Mystic Eyes of Death Perception to carve the lines of death into Nobu.

"Don’t stand in front of death."

"Ggh...!! Not bad at all...!!"

Nobu spat out a tremendous amount of blood as she looked at Assassin Shiki and said,

"...Hahaha... The wounds you cut don’t seem to heal... Well... I suppose there’s nothing for it!!..."

Thud...

Nobu collapsed, and as her Spirit Core shattered, she vanished. Assassin Shiki, too, had only been forcibly summoned, so she was wrapped in a glow of light and disappeared as well.

"Tch... I did... what you wanted... Honestly, what a pain..."

Whoooosh...

After they were gone, the place had become somewhere no one could live.

-----------------------------

"Oh... It’s been a while, Amadeus..."

"Yes... It has been a while, Salieri."

The two Servants recognized each other and were exchanging words, speaking their True Names. One was the greatest composer and musical prodigy, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and the other was Antonio Salieri, the monster of innocence who, though not nearly as famous because of Mozart’s shadow, was known to those who knew. The moment they met, they immediately began attacking each other through conducting.

"Crescendo!"

"Hmph."

Mozart struck first, but Salieri immediately countered his attack and prepared his next move.

"Dance to my conducting, death god."

"Then... which Bach would be your type, I wonder!!"

The two of them immediately buffed themselves and continued trading attacks. At first, they were evenly matched, but as time passed, Mozart gradually began to fall behind.

'This is getting a little dangerous... I’m one thing, but... Marie...'

Thinking that, he briefly turned his head toward where Marie was fighting and checked on her situation. Just as he had expected, she was in quite a tight spot.

"Repent!!"

Flash!

"Hah... ha!"

Slash!

"Kyaaaah!!!"

The situation was very bad. At this rate, not only I but Marie herself was in danger of dying first. The moment I was about to rush over to save Marie, Salieri attacked to stop me, and I had no choice but to barely block it.

'Wait!! I have to help her!!'

"What are you thinking about!? Focus on the fight!! Amadeus!!"

Bang, bang, bang!

"Ggh!!"

Just as I had thought, Marie endured the two of them for a while, but in the end she fell, and Chanson immediately began using his Noble Phantasm to finish her off.

"I shall carry out the sentence... I’m sorry... You may hate me if you wish, Marie...!"

"So that’s how it is... Once again... you, are going to..."

"La mor..."

The guillotine was locked around her neck, and just as its blade was about to fall on Marie’s throat—

"Queen. If you can dodge it, then dodge it!! Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile!!"

At the end of the man’s words, a rainbow beam instantly vaporized Chanson in front of Marie, and the man immediately helped the fallen queen to her feet.

"Graaah!!!"

"Oh my... You are..."

Marie looked at the man in surprise, and the man smiled as he looked at her wounds and said,

"Are you all right, Queen?"

"You are... Napoleon...!"

"How... did you...!?"

Whether because of the World’s Will or because of the land itself, Napoleon, who was here, stroked his beard for a moment and said,

"Oho! Of course the hero has to make his entrance at the end, no?"

Hearing that, the Servants all seemed dumbfounded and began reacting to his words one after another.

"Hahaha!! You’re funny."

"Anyway, thanks for helping Marie! Your Majesty!"

"Heh... Hahahaha!! What an interesting man..."

With Napoleon’s arrival, the situation turned 180 degrees. The one struggling now was not Marie, but Martha, who was having a very hard time, while Mozart also refocused and resumed fighting Salieri.

"Tch... You’re pretty good!? Emperor!?"

"Oui!!"

"It’s not just Napoleon here, you know? Saint!?"

Martha, who was fighting Napoleon, seemed unable to hold out any longer and clashed her fists together before changing into her swimsuit Spiritron form.

"Heh... now this is getting exciting!!"

"Oho... A saint in a swimsuit... impressive..."

After changing into her swimsuit Spiritron form, Martha immediately clasped her hands together and began to pray.

"Lord, please close Your eyes for a moment...!"

"No chance of that, Saint Martha!!"

Realizing that she was about to use her Noble Phantasm, Napoleon also immediately activated his own. The cannon he was holding grew even larger, and rainbow light gathered in its barrel. Then, just as Martha finished her prayer, Tarasque appeared from somewhere and came crashing down on Napoleon.

"You poor dragon who knows nothing of love... Fine, forget it all!! Let’s go, Tarasque!!"

"Rainbow, oh rainbow! Now, lay the bridge of possibility!"

Thus, Martha, falling together with Tarasque onto Napoleon, and Napoleon’s Noble Phantasm, with mana filling the cannon barrel, collided head-on.

"Roadroll... no... Tarasque!!"

"Soar across the heavens!! Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile!!!"

The two Noble Phantasms clashed, and with a deafening roar, a tremendous wind swept through the area. Martha was pounding Tarasque like crazy,

"Muda muda muda muda muda!!!!"

'S-sister...! Please spare me...!!'

"Oho... What is this!?"

Napoleon, flustered by the sudden barrage, briefly saw the output of his Noble Phantasm drop, but he quickly regained his composure and, with a loud battle cry, pushed its output even higher.

"In my... dictionary, the word impossible does not exist!!! Saint Martha!!!"

"Th-this is ridiculous...!?"

'S-sis... no, sis...!!!'

The tide turned, and Saint Martha and poor Tarasque were sent soaring into the sky before vanishing. Poor Tarasque... Napoleon lowered his cannon and let out a sigh.

"Phew... Finally won..."

Whoooosh...

His Spiritron body was also forced to overexert itself, and it too was disappearing in a glow of light.

"So this is as far as I go... Then I leave the Chaldea Master to you, Queen!"

"Leave it to me, Napoleon!"

"Then!!"

Napoleon vanished with a satisfied smile, and Marie immediately went to Mozart to help him. But contrary to her expectations, Mozart was overwhelmingly winning against him.

"Ggh... Why am I losing ground!? Amadeus...!!"

"Now... rest... Salieri..."

He began using his Noble Phantasm to grant peace to the monster of innocence.

"Farewell... my rival... If we meet again, let’s play the piano together... Requiem... for... Death..."

"Graaahhh!!!!... You bastard... Mozart.....!!!!!"

Just before disappearing, Salieri thought to himself,

'Thank you... my rival... for bringing down a monster like me...'

The monster of innocence vanished while listening to the requiem. Mozart immediately sat down for a moment to rest, and Marie approached him and spoke.

"Then... shall we go to the Master now, Mozart?"

"Yes... Hah... Let’s go, Marie."

And so the two Servants headed toward where Juhwan was.
