Chapter 63: June 5, 2004 Chiron=Hector, Penthesilea

Meanwhile, Chiron could see that the surrounding situation was a mess.

Although Chiron possessed Clairvoyance and True Eye of the Mind, he could only roughly read futures related to combat, and he could observe the events happening outside now with his Clairvoyance.

‘The arrow shot by that red archer… even if I shoot my own arrow, I can only change its trajectory. I probably can't block it…. I never knew there would be an archer who uses Noble Phantasms like consumables.’

And Spartacus clearly came towards our side. He betrayed again and is approaching this way, and behind him is someone presumed to be his Master, but recklessly sniping is out of the question because I'm also concerned about the fox and the slightly shrunk Servant over there, but Chiron, recognizing the low possibility of them walking over confidently without any preparation, was pondering how to fight.

Using a Noble Phantasm to assassinate the Master would be correct, but frankly, I was concerned about the Servants nearby, so I couldn't use it recklessly.

The situation is close to an all-out attack now, and if a single mistake is allowed, a fatal penalty would be applied to Chiron, putting him in a situation where he can't even use his Noble Phantasm.

And additionally, he could see two Servants approaching him.

“Hector… Penthesilea….”

He could see Hector, who achieved great feats as a human in Greek mythology, and Penthesilea, called the Amazon Queen.

Chiron frankly had no confidence in winning.

1:1 might be one thing. 1:2 was quite disadvantageous.

No matter how strategically he thought, the combination of those two Servants with that compatibility was too powerful, so Chiron could only break into a cold sweat.

The Masters had already evacuated, and while it's not impossible for a magus to face a Servant, they would have to fight risking their life.

Even then, the chance of winning is quite low, and in the end, her younger brother Caules chose to take her and flee.

He also took the Berserker, so that's a relief, but the battlefield is unfavorable for our side.

“Sigh…, I have no choice. I can at least buy some time, I suppose.”

Even if he wanted to fulfill his own wish, it wasn't a wish he wanted to realize by sacrificing his Master, so he had resolved to protect his Master.

“Well then, I should start with the first shot.”

He shot an arrow at the visible enemy, and seeing that, Hector said.

“Shall we check out Achilles's teacher's skills~”

“Well, I don't know if a 2:1 force is necessary, but since he's that guy's teacher, we must not let our guard down.”

“Of course. This uncle is always serious, you know.”

“You've changed a lot since becoming a heroic spirit.”

“I got tossed around too much on the battlefield, that's why, and I'm already old enough, but I couldn't even rest properly on the battlefield, you know.”

Currently, Penthesilea's Mad Enhancement was temporarily sealed.

Judging by Achilles's scent, she might have killed Hector.

Seeing Achilles might have made her snap and attack, but instead of a Command Spell, Tamamo's magecraft sealed the Mad Enhancement to a minimum, so it didn't severely cloud her mind, making Penthesilea a Berserker who wasn't quite a Berserker.

“Hector, if you were to incarnate, how do you plan to live?”

“Hmm, I'd like to play and rest with peace of mind~ I'm already exhausted beyond exhaustion.”

“You're quite passionate for someone saying that.”

“Hmm…, a minimum respect for the Master, shall we say.”

“What kind of respect?”

“That Master treats heroic spirits as people, but how should I say it…. The type who would break if pushed further in this situation…, or should I say it feels innate?”

“What are you talking about now?”

Then, as arrows flew in, Hector swung his spear, deflecting all the arrows, and said.

“Rhea, what do you think about the Master?”

“Hmm, seems ordinary?”

Then, Hector sighed and at the same time, Penthesilea smashed the arrows flying towards her with her mace mercilessly.

“Rhea seems to think so…. Frankly, I think differently. How exactly did the Master summon us? Was there a catalyst right in front of him? How is the Master maintaining magical energy for seven Servants, and lastly, he gives off the smell of an ordinary person, not an outstanding magus. He's not accustomed to killing, and judging by the body that seems trained for it, shall I say he seems like a person prepared to fight Servants?”

“Aren't you thinking too complicatedly?”

“Sigh, even this uncle has developed occupational hazards, you see. Frankly, I don't trust the Master, but I can trust his eyes, those eyes are, how should I say. A person who has made some resolve. The kind of person who would go forward alone even if betrayed?”

“……. That's enough for me. He's not a warrior. I can't force the path of a complete warrior on him.”

The two blocked arrows simultaneously and began to get closer to Chiron on the other side.

“For that reason, Sir Chiron, you should either be eliminated or surrender.”

“Hmm…, if you guarantee my Master's survival, I'll surrender. If not, I plan to resist to the end.”

Hector smiled bitterly and said.

“Resistance is a good method too, but our Master doesn't seem to intend to fight to the point of killing the opposing Master.”

From those words, Chiron could roughly understand the disposition of the Master controlling seven Servants.

“I see…. Then, let me ask one last thing. What is the Master's plan?”

“Grail theft or destruction, I suppose.”

At those words, Chiron seemed dumbfounded, but considering the Master who summoned seven, he must also possess a Grail, but he couldn't understand why he would try to take the Greater Grail.

‘If he's serious about retrieving the Grail…. That statement would be valid, but does he have eyes that can see the future? Or did he see the possibility of a calamity caused by the Grail later? For now, if they guarantee the Master's safety, surrendering is fine…, but can I trust them….’

Frankly, there seemed to be no possibility of Hector and Penthesilea lying.

Although famous, Hector was a man who would grind his own life to protect Troy by any means necessary, so he didn't inspire trust, and conversely, he had no choice but to ask Penthesilea.

“Then, what about you, Penthesilea?”

“As Hector said, the Master is heading towards the Grail…. And the Master will definitely reach it. That guy is serious. Additionally, I don't think he will kill your Master. If the Master tries to kill your Master, I will stop him with all my might. I swear this on my pride as an Amazon warrior.”

Chiron had just confirmed with Clairvoyance that the Master was indeed heading in the direction of the Grail, just as Penthesilea said.

‘Seeing that Penthesilea swore on her pride, it seems she truly has no intention of killing the Master.’

Penthesilea must know that if she said that and then killed the Master with a Command Spell, the relationship between Servant and Master would deteriorate significantly.

If that happened, the trust of the seven Servants, even the incarnated ones, would not trust him.

However, unless the line is crossed, it seems there would be no reason to kill the Master.

“Very well. I surrender. May I tell my Master?”

“The more people who surrender, the better, but if you intend to resist to the end, I won't stop you.”

“Understood. That aside, what happened to Achilles? He was fighting the red spear-wielding Lancer and stabbed him with a dagger in the end.”

“Ah~ Achilles ended up joining our side, and judging by his expression, he looked like he could vomit any moment~”

‘That's a nightmare from Achilles's perspective, considering the historical relationship, isn't it….’

Achilles ran to catch Hector, and Hector avoided Achilles while inflicting damage on the enemy.

Considering that, it's most likely that Achilles, having been toyed with by Hector, would be busy cursing rather than welcoming him upon seeing Hector.

To form an alliance with such a historical enemy….

“I see…. That dagger seems to have broken the contract, leading to a new contract with a Master.”

He wasn't sure about the dagger exactly, but if he heard its True Name, he would probably be convinced.

He merely concluded that, seeing the new contract being made, the dagger was likely a weapon that breaks contracts.

『Master, for now, the enemies don't seem intent on taking your life. Shall I surrender?』

『What is their goal?』

『They said Grail theft or destruction.』

『……. Please wait. I think we'll soon make contact with that Master. For now, let's have a talk, and if possible, we'll fight.』

『Master!? If you fight like that, you'll lose 100%! The possibility of the opponent coming forward without any preparation is zero!』

『But I have my pride as a magus! Rather than surrendering like this, I should at least try once and then surrender! Don't you think it's too harsh a choice to be convinced from the start that there's no chance of beating him?』

Chiron thought his Master was admirable, but structurally, it was a situation where he couldn't help but lose.

『Understood. Let's try to resist as much as possible.』

『No, Chiron, you surrender. I don't want to lose you too.』

As a teacher, Chiron let out a deep sigh.

Who would have known he would get attached to a Master with a soft heart who heads towards reckless places on his own.

Well, it might be fortunate that he was summoned as a teacher among the Servants.

For now, if it seems dangerous, he planned to save his Master even if it meant using his Noble Phantasm.

『I wish you luck.』

『We'll meet again later, right.』

『Yes….』

Hector chuckled and said.

“Seems you met a good Master~”

“Sigh, even if he's a good Master…, it will be a good experience….”

“If it seems dangerous, we'll also intervene and mediate.”

At their words, Chiron felt relieved and ran towards where his Master was.

Seeing that, Hector shrugged his shoulders and merely followed behind Chiron along with Penthesilea.
